Sooo many questions! I have tried to find lots of answers in the past forums, but cant quite find excatly what Im looking for, any advice would be greatly appreciated!
The plan is to go to the Iguazu Falls, then up thru Paraguay and then into Pantanal for a tour. Does anyone know if it is worth going thru Paraguay first?
Next we want to head to Bolivia from Corumba so thats why we are wondering where we should start the Pantanal tour from. Is it possible to start in Campo Grande and finish in Corumba? Or should we just go straight to Corumba and start and finish there?
Thanks so much!!
No, if you ask me your itinerary is fine, though pretty non-standard (which is good; helps avoiding the masses).
What you basically do, is make a little loop in eastern Paraguay; this is feasible, roads there are in relatively good condition, and bus service is somewhat dependable. Consider doing Asuncion - Braz border by river boat; there is service up to concepcion, from where you can bus it to Ponta Porã. From there, there is a variety of bus services to the Pantanal. Straight to Campo Grande is easiest, but others may also be attractive. Footprint's guide to Brazil mentions a few.
As to Pantanal tours, I'm pretty sure that you can make arrangements as to fit your plans. Most tours on offer from Campo Grande are round trips, but some include Corumba, where you could simply leave the tour. From there, the train (or bus) to Santa Cruz de la Sierra is beaten tourist track.
Just bear in mind one thing; you need a multiple entry visa (if you need one at all) for Brazil to make this tour worthwhile. Namely, you enter once to see the falls, once on your way to Pantanal... obvious, but people tend to forget.

Don 't leave Brasil. Go from Foz do Iguaçu straight to the Pantanal (Corumbà) via Dourados. On the way you can eventualy visit Bonito (see internet, the excursion Rio Sucuri is the best).
In Corumbà you will easely find a company that will take you in the Pantanal.
After your trip in the Pantanal you can continue into Bolivia direction Santa Cruz.
Thank you so much guys. That has helped us out a lot. We will stick to the plan and let you know how it goes - cheers!!
