I have been spending ages looking around at backpacks and the best I have seen so far is the Berghaus 65 antaeus.I was just wondering as it is my first RTW and I have not really got a clue about backpacks if anyone would recommend this one.I am going to Thailand,OZ,NZ,Fiji, roughly and will just be staying mainly in hostels etc.May do a little camping but not a lot.
Also my girlfriend is looking for a backpack.Could anyone recommend a good one for her i.e size, make etc.
As always thanks for looking at this and any advice is greatly recieved.
I'm in Thailand at the mo enroute home. Been to Thailand (this is my 2nd time!) Austrailia and NZ. I brought the Berghaus womens backpack 55 + 15L and i can't say enough about it. Abs love it! V comfortable and alot of room. And that says alot coming from a girl who brought a hair dryer and straightner with her! Well worth the extra few euro. My bf has a Sporthouse 75 + 18L. He likes it's a bit harder for packing.
Friends of ours gave us advice when we were choosing backpacks and it was brill. Make sure you get a backpack that zips open like a suitcase. Alot of the shops will try and sell you ones that only open at the top (like a school bag) which means you have to unpack the whole bag to get at stuff at the bottom. The "suitcase" type ones are a bit extra but i think you'll find its money well spent!
Cheers aom.Been to try the Berghaus 65 this weekend and loved it.I have just seen a few on ebay that I am going to kep an eye on.
Just looking out for one like yours too for my girlfriend to try.
Enjoy the rest of your travels in Thailand.
