someone define a job that pays well?

often i know people that earn 40k and say thats good money but for me i regard that as quite poor....everyone has different standards to what they need for there daily lifes. i regard anything over a six figure sum as decent money! a long that front there is good benefits for anyone that commands such a good sallary.

It's totally dependant on where one lives and the local cost of living. Some places 40k will allow a person to live OK and still save - others 40k is almost poverty level.

We are only talking income here. Wealth is made up of your assets as well as your income. For instance, if you have a decent house and a reasonably small mortgage (or no mortgage), your disposable income may be quite a bit higher than someone who is earning a lot more than you, but has a large mortgage to service.
