i just tried to book an internal flight online, santiago to buenos aires.

i need to have a brazillian credit card or an american express!

is there any other way to book this flight, or do i have to pay in cash, in the hopes they have a flight that day!

Have you selected the tourist option? I know that when you booking with certain South American airlines, if you state that you are a tourist you get a different fare.
Just check that.

I'd be really surprised if you couldn't pay using any major credit card.

If that doesnt help, give the airline a call. :)

I do know when I tried to pay from my Buenos Aires to La Paz flight with Lloyd Boliviano Airlines, the travel agent said they needed cash, not a credit card to buy the ticket. I pointed to the sign on the desk saying that the travel agent takes Visa, and the agent said it was an airline restriction, and not them. I was never clear if it really was or not, but there you go.

Assuming you have some sort of credit card, then given that Santiago to Buenos Aires is such a popular route, I would be surprised if you couldn't book a flight. Have you tried looking on EXPEDIA or TRAVELOCITY, or even an airline site like LAN CHILE.

Of course, if you don't have any credit card, then you'll find it very difficult to book any flights.

Anyway, I think you should be able to get tickets at a travel agent with only a day or two notice from Santiago to B.A., if it comes down to it.

i had the same problem but with a internal flights in SOUTH AFRICA

when i phoned up the airline they said just go a head with the booking online despite me not been south african.

i just put in my number and walla got a booking ref. i suggest you do the same. they obviously think that not many people from outside there own country fly...or something

Hi!

I guess you have it all sorted now, but maybe this info is good for next time!

i booked an internal flight in Brazil with Gol last year and found the same problem as you mentioned. Eventually i found they way when I phoned them directly (you have the option for english language)

What you do you book the flight over the phone, give them your card number I think, but they dont take any money. They give you a reference number and before the flight you go to the ticket desk and pay in cash for the flight.

I thought it was a bit odd, but I guess it is the way it works in there! I had no problems at all!

Take care!

that does sound odd miromar, but that's south america i guess.

ye, bit too late for that, i needed to have a confirmed ticket.

i suppose €90 still isn't too bad, just hate being ripped off, €30 charge to book a flight!
