I'm not too sure about the 3 mths period of expiry thingy.
All I know is that, those ppl in the BHC is not helpful.
No matter what questions you throw on them, they'll just nod their head like YES, errr NO and no more extra words frm their mouth. They act like "Don't really care".
Well, I understand it's hard for ur sis to go there alone without knowing anyone. Not too sure how old is your sis btw.
In the forum, I discovered that, there're some ladies that are real braveheart. That's a girl name Deb, if I'm not mistaken she did told me beofre that she's going solo, & she has no one as her reference there. RESPECT
Even me myself as a guy, I do feel a lil nerve.
But speak on my ownself, I'll do it alone without any doubt where bacpackers are like this. Risk is everywhere, but sometimes just be extra careful.
Backpackers travel the most with 1 or 2 partner to be convenience and move easily.
My suggestion is, try arrange the journey to UK with any of the ppl here that are heading there as well. I think some of them are leaving in Jan next year. As for me I'll be only leaving at the end of March, that also provided my UK WHM Visa done on time. Sigh...
Not to worry too much, our fella mates here are all ready to help out. Some of them were already there in UK waiting for us.
Afterall, this is what TP Forum for.
thanks a lot Nick. appreciate it.
really want to ask help from anyone out there to help my sister to get a place to stay in UK and also some information for her to live there. like for example, how to get a job, etc. you are welcome to msg me so that we can discuss it. thank you very very much.
Gah!!! Aren't any of you that havne't gotten your passports back from them stupid visa people annoyed ONE bit?! I'm fuming here! How can they keep your passports for soooooooooooo long!? FFS!!!! I can't even go to the beach or anywhere now! Feel like a prisoner in this country!!!
has anyone tried what johnnyboy mentioned?! About just goign there? Thats it! I'm getting my arse down town tomoz! I'll bring my machete as well. It won't be pretty.
Hey calm down dear...
Btw what's "FFS" hehe
Just go ahead and try as what JohnnyBoy said.
11 MONTHS FOR AN INTERVIEW!!!! AHHHHH!!!!! i can't wait that long!!!
thanks for the info on what i need to submit..... really helpful..
ok, so what is advised here... i have friends in the uk... should i list them down in the form or should i just leave it out? .... i mean will that make it harder for me to enter? will they think that i wanna jump ship and just live there there.... I JUST WANNA GO ON A BLOODY HOLIDAY MAN!!! sigh....
and in that space where they ask you to "list down all the places you will be staying at".. What do i write? i mean i'll most prob be staying at a friends place but after that... no idea...
i've lived in the uk before.... when i was a kid.... my dad went there to do his degree and the whole family went with him... will that affect my application?? AHHH.... i'm hearing so many bleeding horror stories here.....
Guys, those of you already over there... any advise? i'm freaking out here.....
to all.....the interview may or may not be needed....i personally needed one when i appplied but i have had friends who did not require it. i suspect the reason was because the 10k on my bank statement had been borrowed....
just fill in the forms properly, attach all the requested documents..and make sure the money in your bank statement/book has a history and did not just suddenly appear out of nowhere. give them no reason to be suspicious and just cross your fingers..
any questions about anything feel free to message me
im actually not surprised that everyone is having so much trouble with the hicom..we're so used to the "whatever" system back home.
everything here in the uk is so annoyingly bureaucratic..from the immigration at the airport to applying for jobs to opening a bank account.. the list goes on...
having said that..they have all the right and reason to be that way.....
FFS stands for For xx sake. Whats wrong with these people at the high comm? Lazy [email protected]!! ugh, if i don't get this thing, England's not worth it. I can always go somewhere else. Right? I just want this thing cuz when i was studying there i didn't have the time to travel round Europe. And now that ive graduated i'd like to at least have a looksee around! But no! They kick out educated people that have spent thousands of pounds in the country who will (willingly) work for minimum wage!! Gah!
Hey crazynuts, "annoyingly bureaucratic"? Better that way rather than having someone look at your application and turning it down only cuz they were having a bad day or did not like your face now would it?
I'm going to that dumb visa centre either tomoz or the day after. Lets hope johnnyboy's right!
[ Edit: Sorry, no profanity please. ]
To regards of the list of places that you have to put down ....just go up on UK tourism board on the website...list down a few places that might interest you ....you don't have to go there just because you have told the Home Office ....also the interview process is to justify the genuine reason why you are heading there which should be travelling.....just try not go in with long beard and a T-Shirt which say "Martyrdom"(no offence)....all the best ppl
Yawn...oops...excuse me... just reached office and it's only 6am! Sigh another blue yet boring day.
Well regarding on this statement:
"make sure the money in your bank statement/book has a history and did not just suddenly appear out of nowhere"
What happened if the money is really frm parents who ready to help their kids? Or what happened if it's actually frm a FD that are still waiting for the maturity date to end before transferring over to your saving account? I believe during your submission, they won't ask those questions and will only collect all those required document and seal it in a plastic bag and ah... ha...
this is where an interview is required bcoz' of they don't justified on the very first day? And becoz' of this, eventually it affects the whole planning schedule of certain individual, and we'll be held back and to wait for MONTHS till the next interview.
