I'm planning to submit my application in January or so, as i plan to go in March 2005..
I don't have any job offers as i plan to go there to search for one...
but would it better if i should state that i have at least a job offer waiting for me?
is the working holiday maker visa classified as a 'permit-free employment'?
cos i'm not sure if i'm required to fill up the employment section
with the questions:
1.What job do y ou propose to take in the UK?
2.Please give the name, address and telephone number of your UK employer...
What is the best answer to fill up if i really don't have any job offers at all? But is it necessary to fill this info if the WHV is considered permit-free employment? i'm getting worried and paranoid already...
Kindly advise?

I am planning to apply for WHV soon and decided to leave Malaysia by end of March 2005. Is it necessary to fill in Other Information section? I am worried that i will be asked to attend for interview. I heard that we will have to wait a year for the interview. sign...

Hi jaimeliew,

I'm planning of leaving for UK at the end of March as well.
I'll be submitting the documents on 29th Nov. And for me,
I did fill up the OTHER INFORMATION SECTION. Telling them what's my
purpose of taking this UK WHM VISA and where would I be residing in UK and my plan of taking up casual work to enable me do some traveling around Great Britain.
That's what I written down there. I hope it helps.

Good Luck,

Thanks for the info, Kody. Really appreciate that.

I have been so worry because I want to tender my resignation letter only after I get the visa. I have to give 2 months notice, so meaning if I want to leave by end of March, should have given the resignation letter by early or mid of January. I was told that I can only apply the WHV in January (or earliest end of December). From what I see here, some got their WHV after a month waiting. Oh my god, hope it won't take that long...

I think I have all details filled out properly and honestly. I have all the necessary documents: passport, saving bank book, degree certificate, employment letter and payslips.

Is there any other things that I can provide so that British HiCom won't ask me for interview? Just wondering what happened to those were called for interview, did you miss out documents or because of other reasons? What could be the cause of being called for interview?

Good luck to those who have submitted the applications.

hi,

Just to share my story.I applied for the working holiday visa on the 28/9 so that i could travel to UK and around europe on the 16th of November. Reaching November there is still no news on my application so i took back my passport and bank books from VFS and went anyway as a tourist for 2 and a half months. However at Heathrow airport, i was turned back because i applied for this visa before therefore they assumed i have the intention of staying in UK illegally for 2 years. Now i'm totally lost. I'm back in Malaysia now and has resubmitted for the visa. However i think my chance of getting it has reduced now since i have a refusal entry mark on my passport. So i'm left sitting here jobless staring at the VFS site everyday.

well.....good news for me...

my gf got the visa from HK... be very careful everybody when u go for your interview they will ask you several times if you feel well and these things... Just reply them that u feel absolutely fine... I suppose they want to see if you hide something... Apart from that, all the questions were like "why you think this visa will benefit you?" , "why you want to visit uk? " and this kind of questions...

hope this post helps all potential WHM visa applicants!

Hi,

What a wonderful forum it is! I'm planning to leave for UK somewhere during June 05. Will be applying for UK WHM visa as well. Actually am planning to take up a short course, around 3 months time. After that, find a job and go travelling...that's my plan. But can we go for short courses using this visa? Or should i tell those British Comm people that i'm taking this course? It's only for a short period of time. I did went there and ask, but the lady was unhelpful at all. Can anyone help?

Thanks...
