hey all....

Thought i'd share a bit of good news.

Yup! i submitted it in on Oct 19th along with a friend of mine. Her's was approved last Tuesday, mine was approved on Friday. We just picked them up yesterday.

I didn't submit my orginal documents but i did bring them along. When i say documents i mean my diploma, degree etc. They did, however, take my bank passbook and payslips (i gave them 6). I was freelancing at the time. So i wrote "unemployed" when it came to details of my employment. But i had them refer ro the section for addtional information. There i explained that i had perviously been employed and by whom but that i was currently a freelancer. I also included a referal from my previous employer.

My friend had the 10k deposited into her account so she had her mom write a letter stating that it was being loaned to her for the Working Holiday scheme. She also submitted her old passport coz she recently renewed it specifically for the working holiday.

i didn't submit any letter from my friend in England confirming that we would initially be staying with her, although i did put down her full address and telephone number.

Before submitted my application, the Clearence Officer said the trick is "to be as transparent as possible". So i think just include letters explaining things that would need explaination... eg 10k suddenly appearing in your account, being unemployed etc. i think their main concern is that your main intention is just to work in the UK and forget the holiday part. So show them that your doing just fine financially over here... that your main intent right now is not to go over there and seek "greener pastures". Then again, i may be totally wrong......

Hope this is helpful. Good luck to all of you applying. My friend and i will be leaving Jan 19th. Most prob be staying near Middlesex first. So if anyone from the thread wants to meet up or anything .. holla...

Congrats Priss,

At last you got it...cheers!
Well to those who are going to apply or submit your application for the UK WHM all I need to say is do it your own way and be direct.
Just follow the checklist, get ready the letters, documents, and certs and etc as requested in there.

I've dropped my application forms and docs yesterday in BHC.
Was the 4th person there to submit it at 8am sharp.
Got a waiting no.44 where Chinese hate this no.
meaning "die die".
Was attended by a lady sitting at the far right (There're only 3 officers 1male 2females)Btw, I was there with my gf, she attended on both of us and mentioned that she recognises us then she asked me, "U applied before?" and I was like duhh...

Anyway, as mentioned by those who already submitted, and another final reminder to the new comers;
pls bring along the original and photocopy documents for them to verify. They will only take your original Passport and Bankbook. For the rest of the certificates and letters, they'll only take the xeroxed one. And bare in mind, only start applying EXACTLY 3 months before the date you intend to fly there. Initially I wish to touch down on the 1st of April next year, but according to the lady, I have to fly on 1st of March due to my application on 1st of December, an exact of 3 months from now. So I've no choice but to change on the spot to 1st of March 2005 in order to submit my forms.

I've attached my 3 months pay slip and year 2003 EA form to prove that I've the sufficient funds and a prove of employment for the recent years. Eventually I've submitted a copy of fax frm my gf's aunt stating that I'll be temporary staying with her in South London till I get a new accomodation later on.

Other stuffs that you need will be 2 copy of passport size photos with white background, a Bank Cashier Order of RM263 payable to "British High Commision", and a RM35.00 cash for the service charge. Do not worries, about the funding where there's no specific amount required, but it seems with the amt of RM10,000 to RM15,000 or more, it would be an ideal amount. Make sure that your bank passbook is updated for at least 3 months, and for those who have an one lum sum amount trasffered in, just bring along a letter of the sponsors confirming the loan out.
As for me, I do have one transffered frm my FD, but all I did is show them my updated passbook,3 months payslip, and my EA form.
I bet it should be sufficient and strong enough for them to review.

Lastly, the officer informed me that the next interview will be on June 2006! which I hope it won't happen to all of us.
Nothing much I can do now... Just sit back and wait for the result.
Finally,I hope this will be my final information on UK WHM application to you guyz out there.
Will keep u guyz inform and updates on the status.
Well, all the best to everyone and congrats to those who successful.
Good Luck.

Nick ;)

Hi everyone,
Im new here and im about to apply WHM visa this month. Just have some question and hope whoever can help, please give some advise. Thanks alot. I am wondering whether my VAF 1 form is same with you all especially those from msia. I have read through the forum and I noticed that my form (printed from BHC Malaysia official website) doesn't have questions below:-
1.What type of employment do you intend to pursue in the UK?

2.How much of your intended stay in UK will be spent working?
(Pls give the number of weeks or months or a percentage of your time)

Jst wondering whether my form is correct and can it be used? I printed it somewhere in November.

Hi there YS,

Those questions that you mentioned are stated for year 2003.
Try this link
and look under Working Holiday. It's the latest one.

Hi All,

I must say that this is one of the most informative forum and many thanks to all those who has generously chip in information. I too will be applying somewhere in January and I’ve all the required documents except for 1 thing-I’m a little uncertain with the way I should be declaring my RM15000.

You see, the RM15000 consist of RM5000 of my personal savings and the other RM10000 is from my parents. I understand that the RM10000 is a one-off payment and I understand that I need a letter from my parents confirming the above transfer into my personal account. Question is, now that I’ll have the RM15000 in January, should I let it float for circa 3 months before I declare it in March. Reason is there’s this requirement to show our updated bank book for the past 3 months. Or can I declare in January itself? Kindly assist please. Kody, Priss, any thoughts?

Hi All:)
I'm a new member to this forum but have been following things lately, and thanks to all the members for the wealth of information here!
Let me introduce myself first, I'm a student at an Irish university, and expecting to graduate my MS this month.
I have always wanted to explore the UK, and see the people who ruled my country (I'm an Indian) for such a long time.
The news is that I have already got the working holiday visa! They issued me the visa on the 4th of Nov, but am still hanging around in Ireland. I guess i still have some time to eneter UK, does anybody know the actual deadline before which i have to enter?
I'm still making plans on where to stay and what to do and if i could work out something relating to my profession. I would appreciate any info about that too....
Cheers and have a nice time!!!
