Hi

Living & working in the UK....I have to say, hearing some first hand info from members of this groups who are already there sure paints a very stark pix on the matter. 3.4 of every 5.0 quids is all you get huh? Nice to know.

I'm planning to put in my application mid this yr. I've been planning for this for sometime now. Been plotting my plans based on the old R&R. So the recent changes / restriction imposed on the WHM had me skidding to a halt. Got me thinking again if its all worth it.

I'm realy irked with the regulation that says we can work for a max of 12 mths only. I mean, of course I'm not going to slave for the whole of 2 yrs but I definitely wanted to work longer than 12 mths.Jeez.

Anyway, I remember someone asking if Pakistanis are allowed to participate in the WHM scheme. No, they are not. Didn't get the reason though.

Hey y'all,

i am a new to this forum and a potential WHM visa applicant from india. I was wondering if someone would help me with a few queries of mine.

  • What should one ideally put down for the question-" List the addresses and telephone numbers of all the places you will be staying at during your trip". Do we need to have some accomodation arranged before we apply?

I am thinking of booking a room at a budget hotel for a few days and then move to a rented accom. Will i need to show a proof of that along with the application?

  • Also I was wondering if anyone who applied from India in this forum would be kind enough to let me know if they had to submit any kind of proof of travel plans along with the app.

Hope someone can help me out with these questions.

Thanx a ton.

Tinman :

No we dun need to be havin' accomodation booked before applyin' for the visa but they hv a field in the form that asks ya whether ya got anybody in the UK ya'll be livin' with. Not sure if itz optional or not. Get the forms from the UK Consulate and call them up ,they r pretty helpful but they dun answer anythin' on behalf of the visa consular officers. Meanin' , they won't be helpin' ya outta the box , 'coz they r probably advised not to. Get a travellin' consultant for more info.

Therez a guy from india , named achiever who recently received his WHM visa. However , hez too choosy and won't answer to guyz. He hasn't still replied to my PM thatz now probably more than 2 weeks old but he loves to help the indian gals that hv similar questions to an extent of chattin' with them on Yahoo and postin' the conversation here. In his most recent post , he said he'll be flyin' on the 19th. Try ur luck and post him some messages , maybe ya r lucky :).

Good luck....

hey guys,

I am in the process of appliying for a UK Working Holidaymakers Visa and am right now collecting all documents. I am not familiar with the process, so I could do with some help & relative tips... The main query I had was; can I apply for a job on various UK job related sites even b4 I have a Visa? will the employer accept my application? if he does will he give a letter (of course assuming I cleared the requirements for the job) that will help speed up the Visa process?

Cheers!

you can reply to as many adverts as you like, its your rights.
if an employer wants to interview you, are you able to fly to london on the next flight?

even an expat would never be employed this way.

p/s: my appology to all that pm me. As I said, all the answers are
already been stated earlier on. I've quit my job, and now I have
less Internet access to this forum. I'll be leaving to UK in
March and I will try my very best to update you guyz.
Last but not least, do not worry too much on your applications,
always ask the officers in the Brit.High.Comm. for more details.
After all, no harm trying.
Good Luck in your applications and Good Journey for those who
are heading there. Take care.

Cheers,
Nick ;)

Hello Yap

This is my 2nd post to this thread and after much preparation, I've submitted my application on the 31-01-05 which was exactly 2 working days after yours . Since most of them were successful in their application, its now left with me and you to face the agonising waiting period!!! Yap, mind keeping me in the loop when you have any latest development in regards to your application from time to time?

I was hoping that I would be able to get my application approved in circa 10 working days as mentioned on the VFS webby but then again it mentioned that WH application could take considerably longer. Now, by comparing the 6 successful applicants listed : [ Sylvyy (2 weeks), deb2 (1 month), Priss (6weeks), Kody (1 week), FlyAway (1 week), YS( c2weeks) ], i reckon that the 2 of us might need to wait for 4-6 weeks. Further to that, Dila, Esther and another lady from VFS related to me that there's currently a lot of students applying for the student visa and worst still is the large number of WH applicants of late. I suppose we've not much choice but to wait.

1 more thing, i reckon that its safe for me to say that ours could be on a safer side since we've way passed the 5 working days period whereby 1 would be contacted in the event there is a need for them to be called for an interview. So Yap, not to much of worrying. Just give them more time, about another 3 weeks. So long as we get it approved before the coming MATTA fair.
