My name is Yuveraj..still a fresh mate in here.. I'm going to apply for the WHM Visa with my fren this coming Friday..I've called in today to the Visa centre in Kuala Lumpur( Wisma MCA). They'r ,quiet polite and answered all my queries quiet well and polite. I've already prepared my Documents ( Payslip, Photo with White background,Certs, Personal ID card, Driving License, and a letter to confirm and let them know where i'm going to stay over there). Both Original and Photocopy. I'll be getting my bank statement tommorow. My dad loaned me 15k in my bank and also i'm going to type a letter of proof saying that he gave me the money. Will that be fine or do i need more requirements before i submit this Friday..? Please help me on this. I did get some guidance from Priss( btw she's my fren as well) so, i just wanna reconfirm all the stuff that i need to submit. Coz i dont wanna get delay'd. Plan to leave on May 2005. Hope things r smooth..!!!!

Hey yuveraj,

If ur dad lent ya 15 grands then logically hez ur sponsor for this whole trip. I was advised to get an affidavit of sponsor done on a non-judicial stamp paper. Now , am from Bombay and not sure if am usin' the right terminology relative to malaysian affidavit concepts. But the bottom line is that itz always great to hv a legal document prepared with ur dad's sig in the bottom that fully explains that hez gonna be the sponsor and yada yada yada yada !!!

Hi Neo..

I agrre with ur suggestion, It would be legally strong to support my application. But i think in Malaysia..that wopuld not be a problem as we r giving the letter stated the amount with the reference of his contact number and his Personal ID number. So, it would be good enough to verify such request. My frens just got a letter sayin' that the amount being loaned by their parents.. and they got their visa. I will take in consideration, In case of any problem..(Touchwood) I hope i wont hehehe..!!
Thanks for ur advice NEO!!!

I think you might get disappointment, as according to the regulation, the applicant should not access his/her 30th Birthday when they apply for the holiday maker visa.

On the other hand, could I know whether does anybody got an office job in UK? Would be helpful if those pals in UK would share some experience in job hunting and job prospects for Malaysian..(any job).

Hello Yap, Chineng, Mice, EstherHow and everyone,

Just a lil update from my end. Called the BHC yesterday and spoke to a malay lady, she's the Entry Clearance Assistant. Asked her about the current processing time and was told that i should give them a couple more days before I call them again for some updates. She was being diplomatic and didn't wanna reveal a lot for fear that i might quote her against the processing time. So I called up VFS to get some info and Esther was just hopeless. She's very good in furnishing callers with very basic information pertaining to the documents needed to submit along with the forms but please do not hope to get a reliable answer from her after you've submitted your application. She has a very high tendency of repeating every single word that one can read in the VFS webby. Don't believe me, feel free to try. She told me that some applicants had to wait for 2-3 months and I knew instantly that she wasn't sure of a word she was saying. Called again and spoke to Dila, asked her the same question and she said WHM applicants will NOT need to wait more than 6 weeks and was a lil assured by that. Mind you, mine's 4 full weeks by the 28th of Feb.

Yap, have u received an email from the BHC asking you to complete the revised questionaire? Any updates from your end?

Chineng, since you too have received the email from the BHC to fill in the revised questionaire, mind telling us when did you submitted your application? This could be well utilised by other applicants to aspect how long should they wait before they start to panic like us.

Mice, welcome aboard. I must say I'm confident enough to say that you are in fact eligible for the scheme as it clearly states that "Commonwealth citizens from 17-30, 30 inclusive are eligible to apply". In other words, you can still apply before u're 31yo. So, what are you waiting for?

As for the rest of the readers of this forum, kindly chip in some info for the benefit of everyone.

office jobs are everywhere in uk. you just need to write and speak good english. plus of course you can do half a decent job.

Wow, I have not been to this forum quite a long time, and surprise to see the response...

Well, just want to tell you my experience, I haven't got any reply from BHC yet...

I applied with a friend on DECEMBER 17th, 2004. I guess we were unfortunate because of the holidays during December, so I guess our application won't be replied in December. So we waited until early of February (before CNY), then we noticed the changes in the status (but not approved yet). I have to re-submit the additional documents regarding my financial status, and my friend was asked to submit the old passport. So soon after CNY, we gave all the necessary documents. Then on last Wednesday (Feb 16), it seemed that there were some confusion in the old and new passport of my friend (coz my friend's old passport was not expired yet), so BHC thought that the old one not cancelled, so asked her to cancel the old one (sigh)... Then yesterday (Feb 23) morning I went to help my friend to collect her 2 passports... then suddenly my friend called me (after I got her passport), VFS called her to pass back the NEW PASSPORT, coz she got the visa already!!! ARE THEY KIDDING???? So what to do, have to help friend to return back the NEW PASSPORT and at the end, I think somehow BHC found out that old passport was cancelled... We explained to VFS earlier that the old one was cancelled but they don't believe... So my friend knows her status (but not getting the passport back yet) while I am still waiting for mine ....

So for those that are still waiting... it is true that it might take longer... coz we have been waiting for so long... since December 17th 2005.... 9 weeks++ (including holidays)... so my advice is please MAKE SURE you have submitted all the necessary documents, so that it will be smooth process... Good Luck to all of us!!! :)
