Hi Guyz...

It's a shocking news indeed! I feel really really sorry to all that
involved. Besides I'm so so sorry for replying late in this forum.
I don't have an Internet Access overhere back in UK, and the only way
is to connect via the Library Internet Access.
I was only given a 30mins free usage.

Things are not really going that "smooth" as well. Getting a job is ain't easy. Maybe time will tells, I don't know. I've only been here for less than 2 weeks. And I got alot of messages in my mail box from you guys and some new comers as well. So sorry that I didn't reply at
the nick of time. It has been a frustrated time here where Internet Access is so limited and I can't go freely scouting for job via online as well. Please do understand. But I know it's more frustrated after
knowing they actually suspended the UK WHM! I felt damn lucky at times.

Overhere, they're having this "Voting" thingy coming up sort of election. I bet this is one of the main issue that caused this to happen. I'm wordless here. Sorry to all.

Dear all,

My prayers go out to each and every individual who have been affected by the latest decision made by the immigration department, however I think that this is just a temporary pronouncement and will be changed after the elections. So keep your hopes high, cause god has got u into this and he will surely get u out of it….

We never get what we want,
We never want what we get,
We never have what we like,
We never like what we have,
Still we love,
Still we live,
Still we hope,

Hi guys,

Don't be disappointed, you all can try for the New Zealand Working Holiday Visa.

One thing that's not convenient is the Immegretion is in Singapore. I already submitted it. Hope you guys don't be so sad for the UK news. Here you have another chance.

Cheers :)

Thats right. But they accept only 100 people a year (first come first serve basis) and its only for 6 months. For Malaysians that is...

Good luck with your application.

i think that the UK government is really unfair in its decision to stop it all together, even the ones still being processed. we have waited for more than 2 months and this is what we get. are they telling us to 'jump plane'? well, if that is the case why not? but there is also another choice, try to get a student visa and study something there and also work part time too. frankly, being illegal there is not that bad since getting snuffed at from the british government.
'what a raw deal'

Hi all!

i felt so sorry bout the latest WHV news...and to all the applicants.. just hang in there k! its not the end of the world..

Anyway, i've something to ask bout the UK immigration/custom; i'm on my WHV and will hit UK on 20/5/05.. i already got my return ticket and will be bringing only around 800pounds in hand. Is that much enough to convince them to let me in? I havent secured any employment yet but already have start contacting few job agencies.

Do anyone know how fussy+particular the immigration/custom at the Heathrow might be?especially to the asian like me? and if they found out that i havent confirmed any job yet..Any tips how to pass through them smoothly with not much huzzle? will they deny my entry? it will be a disaster for me if they did that. Can anyone share your experience with me? Thanks in advance guys!

and one more thing to highlight; my departute date is about one year after the WHV isuued to me and that means i only have one year left. will that effect my entry? and is it helpful for me to bring along any letter of assistance from a friend of mine in UK? Tks!

Hie everyone. Was searching the net about the suspension and came across this article in the Daily News, Sri Lanka...

UK Working Holidaymaker scheme suspended

THE British Home Office has announced that from April 2, the British High Commissions in Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Botswana and Namibia will cease to accept working holidaymaker visa applications until further notice, states a British High Commission press.

This service is being suspended in these countries because a significant and unprecedented rise in the number of applications has resulted in demand outstripping capacity, which has adversely affected the wider visa operation. The situation will be revived after six months.

In Colombo, the UK Visa Application Centre is contacting everyone who has submitted an application to inform them of this suspension.

All those who have paid a fee, but are waiting for an interview, will have their fee refunded. If applicants wish to travel when service is resumed, they will need to confirm their interest at the UK Visa Application centre. Applicants currently in the queue will have priority for booking interviews.

The UK Visa Application Centre will not be accepting any further applications for working holidyamaker visas.
