Quoting alyciachan

Hi, I knew that WHV has been suspended. Just wondering why some of you still have your WHV visa? Why?

hi alyciachan, it's true that the visa is suspended in malaysia. is just that maybe the fella got the visa before the suspended date and planning to go 2 or 3 months later

Thanks taithinye!
Really hope that WHV will re-open again this coming October. Terribly sad.

Yeah...I actually got the visa just before they decided to suspend it. I missed it this much, well you cant see my fingers gesture.
To people who travel with their credit-card, which I think are most probably home-country registered, how do you u guys go about settling the credit in the UK? I mean for instance, how do I pay-off my credit with Standard Chartered and Citibank Visa in the UK? I was told they are not alligned ( mind my choose of word here ) in some way, as far as the credit card services is concerned. It possible to change a Malaysian registered Credit card to that of UK?

Do we have to show as a proof ( at the immigration upon arrival ) the same amount of money we declared during applications or risk entry-bar? Im thinking of transferring them thru bank instead of carrying cash/cheque thru airport.

Hi mmuzamir

You can call back your local credit card company to check your balances & then pay over the Net.

hey all! I'm sorry for asking this question but I really don't know and neither does anyone else I ask...How do I go about getting a UKWH Visa? Are there forms to fill out? Do I have to go see someone at the British consulate or embassy?
I'm going to Europe with a friend in Jan '06 and I have a good knowledge of travelling but this is the first time I have had to apply for a UKWH visa so any help would be great because even my travel agent doesnt know?!?!

i arrived on the 3rd of May, then started working as a waiter in a chinese restaurant on the 3rd day i was in england. the restaurant provides food and a place to stay, but have to work 11 hours a day for 150 pounds a week. i am on a visitor pass (6 months). Jump plane lar. now my legs really painful from standing up to much.

well all i can say is, i miss bittorrent and Naruto and Gundam seed, and lots of cartoons. maybe i will buy a playstation here, only cost a weeks wage (150£), the games can be borrowed at the library for 3.50£ and 3 months rental of the game.....

all i can say its cold and i dread winter...... dont kill to many patients..... i guess i can be in constant contact cause there is a library that has internet access near my work place.... just now just borrowed a coworker's library card to borrow novels....... i think i wont be least not at the moment.....

oh, the strange things do happen at around midnight, like last night a drunk girl wanted to make a statement by overturning a rubbish bin, sad to say she didnt succeed in doing so, and also sad to say i didnt bring her home.....hehe

oh, i didnt tell my friends cause i was afraid i was gonna be turned back lor, malu if i tell everybody i was going to UK and was turned back.... anyway, im not studying in UK im working 11 hours a day.....

to kuan fai, oxford is 1 hour plus drive from london, oxford is the second most expensive city next to london cause of the foreign students. there are tons of asians and lots of chinese here. my plan is to work and save until my passport nearly expires... but who knows, maybe i get to home sick and might just jjump on a plane in 6 months time. its hard to work in a chinese restaurant cause u get scolded all the time, all i do is nod my head and say 'fuck u' in my mind to the fella giving me a hard time. oxford is a nice place to visit cause of the abundance of museums and it is very fascinating.

to muhammad, i brought 1000£ and also show them a computer printout of 1000£ in my account. yes i did apply for a UK WHM visa and was cancelld in the year of 2005 because there were to many applicants. and was frustrated and i just jump on a plane to england. a 12 hour flight from malaysia to england is not a easy thing to endure, it sucks plenty. if ur passport did not get a chop from the british embassy, then they dont know....dont worry, a visitor pass is a chop of 6 months that u get at heathrow, just be calm and answer their Q's calmly. in the airplane, they will give out a white paper immigration paper, make sure u have a address of a hotel or a relative, make travel plans like where are u gonna stay and where will u go, how long is your stay, why do u want to come to UK...

to naz, well i was suprised that there are tons of malaysians in england and most of them have expired visa visitor pass.

to destination, i did not abandone u guys.... i just went and did something i wanted to do, cheers!

to peng hong, well now u fell how i felt when i was on the 12 hour flight from kl to hetahrow, the bloody worry of whether thet will let u enter or not,... its a bloody miracle i got in cause the immigration officer was asking a lot of Q's until she got fucked by her boss cause there was a long line behind me... anyway, more cash means better chance of entering....
sayonara and england is cold, bring extra pyjamas
