Not sure if this is the right thread, but has anyone used any of the set-up services offered by STA Travel, First Contact or IEP?

I've got a friend who's just arrived and went through 1st Contact - just wondering if any of the others are much better. I don't really want to fork out the extra money now, but it'll be worth it if everything runs smoother at the other end, hey.

Hi

I will be applying for Working holidaymakers visa soon.
My family friends will be sponsoring my accomodation...so how much should I have in my bank account in order to have enough funds for my visa?

I will be submitting my bank statement is used for my salary transaction(account is not used for my savings). Will there be a problem if I transfer a lump sum of money into this account? I mean is there a chance for the visa processing officers to wonder why is there so much of money in my account all of a sudden?

Cheers

Angelina

Hello All,

I have just read through all of the posts on this forum and it has beeen alot of help. I was hoping someone would be able to offer an opinion....on a lot of things:
1. I ama dual citizen - American and Trinidad & Tobago (commonwealth) which allows me to apply for the WHM visa. Assuming I am approved and can go to London on my Trinidad whm visa - can I travel around Europe with my american passport? (even thought the visa will be on my tnt passport) I think that with my tnt passport I need to apply for visas to go to alot of countries....
2.Also, I have applied for my visa online and have set up an appt to bring in my hardcopy info. The embassy is saying that in most cases, the visa is returned the same day - has anyone ever gotten their visa in this way (or in the states). I am in New York right now.
3.I had planned a trip to london at the end of the month to do some scouting for jobs and living situations but that is only 1 week after my visa appt. I will give the british embassy my tnt passport for the visa application but I will be able to keep my us passport - will the application prevent me from using my us passport to visit london for a week? (assuming i am still waiting for a response for the visa) Will I get to London and then be rejected at the gate?
Sorry its so complicated but do any of you care to weigh in? Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks.:)

oh and littlegoll - from reading through the forum - I think that if you have a lump sum deposit then just have whoever put it there write a letter saying that they are giving you that to support you in your holiday....anyone that knows anything to the contrary please let us know b/c i am in the same boat. i am applying with @ $5000 usd which ends up being @3000 pounds

Hey all,

I really hope i can get some information regarding the "Working Holidaymaker's Visa" scheme as ive been reading all these posts form page 1 to 60 plus, but havent heard of anything thats close to my case.

I will admit that the reason why im applying for a "WHMV" is because my boyfriend (Uk Citizen) lives there. We met on the internet in March 2004, and subsequently he came to visit me in June 2004. From that period 2004-june2005 onwards, he has visited another 3 times. I have just recently came back from a 1 month trip from the UK (May-July 06) & have decided to apply for a "Working Holidaymaker Visa" as its the only visa which allows me to stay in the UK for more than a year and work a lil bit so i dont have to make my boyfriend pay for everything when im there.

We do want to get married eventually but we would also want to know that i will be able to adapt to the life (weather, people, etc) in the UK and that is why another reason to apply for the visa. I just want to know if the visa approval officers will grant a WHMV on such a basis, knowing that this visa will potentially lead to a fiancee visa or a marriage visa or a marriage while under this Visa in the uk?

I would be grateful if anyone could help me at all as this whole visa thing is quite intimidating. Do you think i should just be honest & email the British High Commissioner anyway?

Please help!
