To 1688 again,

Sorry, i think it be better to post here for the benefit of others. Yes, you would be subject to pay tax when you work and even if it's only a week. It gives you some benefits actually.

TNT has great information with regards to getting started in UK.

I referred to it and used it as a checklist when I first arrived and it couldn't be more helpful!

Thinking to apply WHM visa very soon, however, does the travel plan that enclosed together with the application form, need to be in full details?

HI:
ur WHM plan only need to be as simple as posibble & try to limit it to 1 page, here is part of my travel plan
the most important things is to give the WHM approvers that u will go back after visa expired.

I’ll spend time to visit below attraction.
1. At London: Big Ben & The Houses of Parliament, London Eye, British Museum, London Tower, Buckingham Palace, Greenwich Park, Harrods, Camden Markets, National Gallery, The Millennium Eye,St. Paul's Cathedral and Westminster Abbey.

hope this will help u.I think they might even not read wat u r write!

Hey I'm in London too, but stay very far from your place, North area, Bounds Green.

It's true that jobs are not easy to get in London recently, due to summer holiday - competition from students, and also people from Polish. I have been in London for 3 weeks, but I could only get 3 days part time job till now - not even a full time job offer yet.

Anyway don't give up and visit gumtree.com more often - refresh the page every minute, be the first who call the employee when they post the advertisement!

Good luck ...

Hi all,

Still jobhunting and checking out accom and flight tickets.. HSBC will be calling me tomorrow for a telephone interview.. so im keeping my fingers crossed! they called me last week to arrange a time/date.

Does anyone know if Malaysians need any extra documentation/visas/ permits to visit, say, France, Germany, Italy, Spain etc? What about the US as well?

hope to hear from you all soon.. thanks!

I dont think Malaysian Passport holders need visa for those European countries you mentioned. Well, for US, thats the most difficult one!!!The most MAFAN!!! Good Luck to you if you want to apply for one...
