Good day to everybody over here,

there was a case, my friend failed to get the WHM visa, she thought it may because the FD and statement kind of stuffs. Her money in FD and statement actually was given by her boyfriend, abt rm20k, due to her boyfriend was working illegally in uk, that's why she mentioned the money came from her parents.
and now, she still does not know the actual reason why she was failed to get the visa.
so, is that possible the immigration officers actually can check your bank statement, FD, that amount was came from?!!! as long as they are suspecting on something, even it's very a small matter, they may directly will fail the application?!!
so, the sponsor's status must be well clarified to immigration officer?

please advise, anyone? thank you :)

Hi Naveen,

The VFS (Visa Facilitation Services) officers would not go to the extend of 'investigating' your source of cash. Apart from financial stablity that an applicant has to show, i believe there are other deciding factors as well. I do not know the whole picture of your friend, maybe she had the lump sum appeared out of nowhere all out of sudden, with a recent dated statement or fixed deposit and her parents didn't gave a letter of affirmation that it's their money?

Yes, do clarify the sponsor's status and get him or her to write a letter of sponsor, and submit together. I'm unsure if you would need to submit your sponsor's salary statements, do find out about that. All the best :)

dear skyef,

well, im not sure for that, but some of my friends said, better prepare more documents in order to apply this visa.

they said the uk immigration came out with some new laws the past few months, in april. they are becoming very strict while approving the WHM/ working visa for malaysians.

Hi all,

Me and my cousins got our WHM visa in June. Both my cousins got their visas straight without having to go through interview. As for me, the interview was alright. The questions they asked are quite straight forward. Just make sure to be honest and very sure that you are there to travel and work is to support your travel funds.

We will be reaching London, UK in Oct. However, we are still not sure where to stay. Any advice? As according to some of my friends, they said North London is more dangerous compare to South London.

I am thinking to look for houses in Lambeth, Lewisham, Greenwich and Southwark. However the rental is quite expensive. I am wondering will other places like Croydon and Bromley be too far away from Central London? We are planning to find jobs in Central London and if it's too far we might have to spend a lot on transportation. It wouldn't be good to us as we have limited budget.

Would appreciate some advises on this.

Many Thanks.

hi enidmk,
my gf and i will be travelling on oct also, probably on the 1st day hehe . lucky we got our visas with 2 days without interview as well. yea im having the same problem with u, accomodation. i have checked for past few weeks constantly, i emailed and even smsed the poster but only a few replied. most of the rooms are taken very fast. so i guess the best time is to look for a room 1 or 2 weeks before ur departure. what i suggest is that , find a location which u prefer ( must be close to TESCO or ASDA and near tube station ! ) then rent a room for SHORT TERM , maybe 2 weeks or 1 month? once ur there ... then start to look for a room nearby..i think they have better deals there. most ppl would want to meet u before renting out, plus u get to see the room for urself. add me on msn c_waisoon or email me at changwaisoon to discuss further, same goes to other ppl who are going. ALL THE BESTTTTttttttt

any new applicants?

Dear skyef,

Somewhere i read, forgot the exact webpage, showing EPF statement is necessary? i think EPF statement is in malay word, isn't?

Hi Naveen83,

You will not need EPF statement. It's good to have some letters from the bank, where it states your residential home country address when comes to applying for an UK account. But different banks works differently. Some would ask for national identity card, drivers licence or just your passport.

Do make some photocopies of your important documents and keep them in a different storage. In case if you lost your documents, least you have the photocopies to back you up. I lost my identity card and drivers licence here, so it was really hassle.

hey skyef,
how u doing there ? must be a real hassle eh to lose ur id there. here's a tip for all travellers... SCAN a copy of ur i.c , driving license and most importantly PASSPORT and ur visa them to urself. that way u have a copy of each in ur inbox so incase anything happens just retrieve from ur email. hope it helps.
