Hello all!

I've just gotten to the UK and am going through the same pains with opening a bank account in the UK that most of you went through. It's an absolute pain!!

Anyway, regarding Lydia's question, I think a one way ticket will suffice as I travelled in on a one way ticket myself. However, be prepared to show that you have the funds required to purchase a ticket back to Malaysia if needed. I've heard of cases where the immigration officer asks for proof of funds to get a ticket home. However, considering that you've already arrived into the UK for the first time, I doubt that you will encounter any problems. In any case, isn't a return ticket cheaper anyway?

I should be travelling into London to settle soon so pls let me know if any one of you would like to meet up! Also, do any of you frequent the Malaysian Hall? Heard the food there is pretty good?

Okay then, I take my leave! Hope to hear from you all soon!

Cheers!

HEY ALL!

I'd been on the WorkHolidaymaker visa in UK, n had a helluva time in London, working n travelling..
Now the tough part comes.. I'm trying to get a tax refund from all the taxes I'd paid in UK..
anyone knows how to go abt doin it?? or have done it before?

I'd been reading up on HM Revenue & Customs website in the UK
the only way of contacting the Tax Office back in UK is a helpline.. no form of contact available thru the net..

I know there are some agents who claim the taxes back for u, bt would charge lk 16% of service charge from the taxes claimed back..which leaves wayyy lil!
so look forward to hearing from u guys ;)

ciao
Nell

Hi

I am new to this thread.

I have applied WHM last friday i.e 4 days backs on 15th Feb in Singapore VFS. So far I didn't get any call and even my status on vfs website shows application forwarded to BHC.

So any experience.....will there be an interview for my case....?

Whats the normal process time ? I am really nervous and anxious to know my result ?

Also can anyone let me know information on appeal for WHM as how this can be done ?

Thanks
vijay

Vijay,

Don't get paranoid by posting duplicate entries in several threads. What did the VFS officer say when you submit your application? They should have informed you on when you will hear from them. Anyway, they WILL call to inform you whether your application is successful or not, or if you need to attend an interview. Wait until this Friday for their call before calling them to check the status of your application.

Hello

I applied WHM from singapore VFS and got rejected. The reason they stated is origin of funds documents and travel plan for 3 months is not proper when compared to 40 % work in UK I mentioned In the questionaire.

So they have given 28 days time to appeal . Is it good to appeal ...Please advise me on this and the appeal process..?

Please can anybody who gone through this process help me as what to do and how many days it will take again for the result of the appeal ?

Thanks
Vijay
