I am curious! Does the Reunion feature in TP work so far? And does any of you know any other similar thing on the net? Because I just lost a new friend about 2 weeks ago and I don't know how I can track him down.

Yes Yes Yes! I miraculously got an message through Travellers Point from one of my favourite people in the world who I haven't seen for over 3 years and lost touch with 2 years ago when he seemed to disappear off the face of the globe...
It absolutely made my day - and was pretty good for him to as i could finally him some photos of our desert adventures that he had waited for for so long! So hang in there - your mate might reappear through the magic of TP!

Please excuse the dodgy grammar/syntax - excitement is clearly hindering my ability to form sentences!

Wow good for you!
I was just wondering... How did he find you? I mean like, how did he get to Travellerspoint Reunion page? There are so many sites on the Internet... As for me, I don't even know his last name, vice versa.

Yeah the travellers point's lost friend really works wonders. Believe me. I was contacted by a friend of my lost friend after 6 years from some university in US. You just add your lost friend name and whenever he/she or his/her friend will search for his/her name the lost friend page of TP will definitely be in top 1-10 search results, even some times the first result in google. Hence he can easily read your message and he will contact you. Thats not less than magic if it works for you which i believe definitely will........Good Luck

I think he googled me and got sent to TP! So even though it wasn't directly through the reunion page being a member of this site got me back in touch with him. GOod luck with your search.

Wow, shame I missed this thread earlier!

Great to hear about the reunions. Back in the day when we came up with the idea of Travellerspoint it was one of the main ideas behind the site as we hadn't spotted it online anywhere else. There are some other sites that offer this nowadays, lostamigos.com being one and planetreunited.com the other bigger sites I know of. Of course they aren't nearly as good as TP .... just kidding, if you are really looking for someone, I wouldn't leave a stone unturned (or site unused so to speak).

Aman is also right to mention search engines. Besides the search function on Travellerspoint itself, search engines register most content which is online these days and therefore just putting it out there that you are looking for someone will help!

Great to hear about the reunions. I had heard of several others but nice to know they are still happening!

Cheers,

Sam
