Hi!
I've decided to propose to my lovely girlfriend on our trip to Rome, Italy.
I was thinking about doing it in a restaurant, and I want to hire a small "band" to play romantic guitar and maybe sing in the typically Italian romantic way :)

But I've never been to Rome, and I'm wandering if anyone have any tips on where would be a good place to do this, and maybe a way to contact the restaurant and a band for the occasion?

:) I'm soooo exited!!!! :D

Oh, that's lovely! Congratulations! The only place I can think of is that rooftop restaurant they always show in the movies - the one that overlooks the Vatican. I wish I could help you more - maybe someone here knows the name...?

Thanks!
Yes, i was thinking about something like that :)

Does someone know the name of this (or a similiar) restaurant?

I tried a quick search to find it - it may be the Marcella Hotel. They don't seem to have much info on their restaurant, but you can click on the rooftop picture on the home page to see the view. You can also check out the full rooftop list I came across at a Rome Guide to Romantic Restaurants.

THE place to go on such occasion is the Imàgo Restaurant on the top floor of Hotel Hassler, near the Spanish steps, center of Rome.
For a less spectacular but typical roman restaurant, Alfredo on Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere would be my next choice.
