Crocadile Dundee ... Paul Haggis, and Subaruu "out back" cars. Then the animals, and of course Sydney

Endless swarms of massively annoying flies during the summer.
Flocks of lorikeets swooping down and making a deafening (and awesome!) noise around sunset.
Sulfur-crested cockatoos majestically flying about.
No worries.
Way too many eucalyptus trees.

I think that's about it. I have a lot more things I associate with lots of different places and/or regions of Australia, but these are the only ones which remain in my mind as being more or less country-wide.

[quote=business]I wonder why that is to thay think that thay are better but we are all the same?

Living in Australia I do not think that we think we are better than others in most aspects of general life, but maybe a lot of people think Australia is better at a lot of sports than the rest of the world. The truth is Australia is better than most the world (at least the countries that aren't drug cheats in sport like America). In things like Cricket, Hockey, Rugby, Swimming (mens isn't that strong at the moment) and many other sports we are the best or close to the best in the world. You wouldn't ever find an Australian person who thinks Australia is better than anyone else in Soccer/Football as we all know in Australia that we aren't but we were robbed by that cheat playing for Italy in the World Cup.

As for business things, I reckon Australian government do truly believe that for the most part places in America, China and a few other countries are better at business than a lot of Australian people. Truth is that if Australia gave out a business visa to every person who wanted one without any difficult to fulfil requirements, well the country would end up being swamped by millions and millions of overseas people who'd love to live in Australia due to some of the aspects people have mentioned in this post like the beautiful women, nice weather etc. A chunk of America, a large chunk of the UK, a big chunk of China, a chunk of India etc would all come to Australia to live and work meaning we'd have a huge population boom which would quadruple or more the population meaning the economy would turn in to a complete disaster as even larger chunks would be going to those foreign countries than is already the case.
