Hello there,

I am travelling to Sri Lanka in November or maybe october and I would need some help.. What kind of weather is there at this time of the year, any good and cheap hostels you would recomande.. places to visit... if there are some worth seeing and tourist don't know about them would be great :) Transporstation - buses, trains etc.?? Prices ... How much money would you suggest for a 3 weeks trip?
I am also thinking to visit Maldives for few days - 2 or 3... how is with transportation from Sri Lanka to Maldives? Is it expencive there?

I hope I don't ask to much and thank you for your time and your help :)

Mostly October & november sunny & nice for travelling unless there is a sudden change in the wheather. But it depends on the area you wish to travel. The average price os a cheap accomodation will depend from 500 to 1000 Sri Lankan rupees (5-10 US dollars). You should be specific where do you want to visit whether it is cultural places, hill country or the beaches. You get flights from Colombo to Maldives. Hope you got a reasonable answer. If you need more details please come back to me with your preferences etc so that i could help you.

Have fun.

Oct/Nov is a good time to visit Sri Lanka and other tropical countries. As for places to visit which is outside the normal tourist routes, Bundala in south east Sri Lanka is a less visited nature reserve where you can see wild elephants. Pinnewala Elephant Orphanage near Kandy is a must-visit place, though it is one of the most visited tourist places in Sri Lanka.

For the beaches, Weligama in south Sri Lanka, for me is the msot beautiful beach that I have seen so far in Sri Lanka.

Without knowing your tastes in travel, it is hard to recommend anything but the above two mentioned are some of the reasons, why people visit Sri Lanka so maybe you will find them useful.
