As for some of the good pubs to go to in Dublin that are not typical tourist places. Check out the below. My list is based on 3 years living in Dublin
Hartigans Leeson Street (best pints of the black stuff in Dublin in my humble opinion!)
Neary's off Grafton Street
Dakato South William Street
The Geroge Bernard Show South Richmond Street
Whelan's Wexford Street
Hogan Great Georges Street South
The Hairy Lemon Stephen Street South
All are these are on the south side of the city and relatively close to the city center.
the iveagh gardens is a nice hidden park halfway along harcourt street down a laneway.
get the dart out to bray, dun laoghaire, howth. all nice seaside towns.
kilmanham castle has a museum of modern art and out past it is kilmanham jail which is a big part of aour history and used in alot of films. pheonix park is good for a walk too.
There are two very different style websites that may help - www.doindublin.com and www.freedublin.com if you read them both through you'll see that they're packed with good local information. As an adviser I'd be happy to help with any other questions.
