Im planning to exit Nepal around October time into India. I want to head to Darjeeling but i'll still have roughly 2 months left on my trip.......where should i go/see/hang-out in the area around north-eastern India?

Anyone know if Bhutan, China, Myanmar or Bangladesh are plausible destinations from here?

First of all you can visit Sikkim which is beautiful.
Then of course there are lots of places of interest in the North of India, such as Varanasi (not to be missed), Bodhygaya, and Calcutta. The Northeast is also and option, but I dont know much about it, nor how safe it is.

Bhutan is definelty possible, but keep in mind that an organized tour that costs $200-250 per day is required to get into the country. So it's not exactly a cheap destination.
Myanmar is possilbe, but you must fly there because there are no open land borders.
China is also possilbe but only if you fly or go via Nepal. There are no land borders between India and China yet.
Bangladesh is possilbe and as far as i know you can go overland.

I agree with Degolasse...Sikkhim is a beautiful place, North Sikkhim specially. You can watch the local celebration of Durga Puja in Calcutta around 18-19 October (though it will be crowded like hell, you can book a bus tour). Sundarbans is a good option also, take a 1-2 night trip on a steamer out to the Bay of Bengal. Theres a good idle beach at Shankarpur (5 hours ride from Calcutta). From Siliguri, you can also visit some forest reserves (Jaldapara, Gorumara). In the North-East, you can visit Arunachal Pradesh (you will need special permits to visit some areas).
