I really don't understand what is nice about fishing. Its just sitting and waiting until a poor fish hurts himself at the hook. Then its pulled out of the water with its entire weight hanging with his lip on a hook. Would you like to hang with your lip at a coathook? I think that hurts. And then its brought back into the water. But before there is taken a picture of a proud fisherman with a huge fish in his hands. Then just kill and eat it, don't throw it back.

But I guess I don't understand the "fun" of it

The fun is in the satisfaction of the fight between you and the fish, reeling it in inch by inch. you will be satisfied after a good catch an realese, The fish will still be alive for another fight some other day. it more like the trill of the hunt for game hunting.

Okay and probably also the thrill of finding a good spot. I think it would be kind of fun if it somewhere in a stunning environment, like in rural Canada or so. Here in the Netherlands are special ponds for fishing, you need a fishing permit. A lot of elderly are fishing in those ponds. I would really nead 2 bottles of whiskey to enjoy it I guess. In a way I may understand that it is quite relaxing, especially in stunning nature;).

Here in malaysia we have paid fishing pond to. i think it is more for the anglers that cannot get out to the open nature to fish. it is a very big business, you can fish 24/7 a walking distance from where you stay for some.

But the to each his on satisfaction
