I see there are a few ATMs here:

but will I be fine getting by on my Mastercard in restaurants, hotels, stores in Peru, Chile, and Argentina?

Cheers

I have one, too, and have not experienced any problems so far.

VISA is more widely accepted in Peru and Bolivia. I found only the more upmarket hotels and restaurants accepted Mastercard.

In Chile, both are widely accepted. :)

I used Mastercard with few problems in all those countries.

I tended to use the card to withdraw local currency from an ATM rather than using the card in restaurants.

Try to limt your withdrawals as you pay a fee on each transaction. But you have to balance this with the safety of carrying cash.

Just take common sense precautions

In the main cities, like Lima, Santa Cruz or La Paz, you won't find any problems with ATM, if you go to smaller cities, you may have some troubles, but usually in a regular sized city you will find at least two or three ATMs... but if you are planning to go to very small towns you will need to use cash....

I am living in Argentina at the moment. Mastercard is everywhere. Do not worry....
