I am planning to move to China at the beginning of next year and I have been wondering what should I do to my TV, desktop computer, desk,... you name it. It is not a lot of stuff but enough to make it impossible to bring it with me on the plane and I don't want to sell it.
Has anyone tried to ship their belongings overseas? Was the price reasonable?
Why in the world would u wanna spend money on shipping (very expensive) when u can easily get all those things in China, at a lower price than what u paid for them in your country?
Just get rid of your stuff. Sell it at ebay, yahoo, 2nd hand shops, whatever. those things arent even worth shipping. Haha. I know it's always a problem when you are relocating.
Trust me, my family has relocated 14 times, and I am barely 24 years old. The only thing we keep on insisting on shipping around are our books (very precious to us) and my piano (even more precious!)
The costs involved in shipping these items around have exceeded their actual value. Haha. But I'm so attached to my piano, I don't want to change it or get a new one. We are one, me and my piano, haha!
I really hate to get rid of stuff... my computer is precious, the xbox, the TV as well... I will rather ship it then sell it. But hey if it becomes so expensive that it isn't worth it, then I will consider selling it or giving it away.
well i understand how u feel.. ive just sorta detached myself from those stuff cos i jus HAD to get rid of 'em! u may wanna jus back up ur stuff in an external HDD n bring it over.. cheaper n lighter..
