Travel Forums Asia From Bangkok to a beach.. but where?

Hey guys, just a quick question.

I arrived in Bangkok 2 days ago and to be honest I have no idea what Im gonna do next.
I want to hit the beach, I was thinking of Cha Am but it seems a bit expensive. Any ideas of another beach thats relatively close to Bangkok and a bit cheaper but still beautiful?

Thanks so much

Hello Unnurse

U could go to one of the beaches, on Koh Phangan.
I was there, last November, and loved it.
It is not very close to Bangkok, but if u get the night bus, u will be at the boat, in the morning.

Thanks Mel. I'll defineatly look into that.
I've been looking at Ko Samet also since it's not far. My weather change was about 35C and I'm still getting used to the humidity so i'm afraid i might snap on a long busride :)

Take 2 hour taxi to Pattaya, they have a few beaches that are nice......

...but if you are a beach person, i'd HIGHLY recommend taking the 1 hour flight from BKK to Phuket, I just got back to BKK last night from there, and had a GREAT time, lots of jetskiing, lots of people, beautiful weather, etc etc

The beaches there are great, Patong Beach, I have tons of pics pm me if you want to see :)

Some things tho:
- Phuket is VERY expensive
- Pattaya can find really cheap hotels, but mostly a sex city in my opinion

Hey guys, thanks for the info.
I ended up splurning on a taxi to Hua Hin and from there I'm going to Koh Tao on monday.
It's been nice but I feel like I'm in a tiny little version of Benidorm and I can't wait to get somewhere not so europeanish :)
