I am feeling a little frustrated as I have been on and one to the company I'm using to claim my superannuation back for months now and they still haven't contacted me. I used them to get my tax and they were great. My visa has lapsed and I've sent all the relevant documents several times so I'm not sure what the hold up could be? Is this normal? Anyone else having similar troubles?
I'm using (or trying to use) Travellers Xpress but, if anyone knows of another company it's worth me making contact with I'd greatly appreciate the tip off!
Have you made any progress with Travellers Xpress?
I made the mistake of using them too, and so I'm also waiting for Superannuation. I provided everything they could possibly need to reclaim it, including details of the Super funds.
I requested an update 10 days ago and I'm still waiting.....
Haqve you tried contacting the Superannuation fund directly?
I've finally had a response from Travellers Xpress although, all I've been told is that my claim is being processed. When you log onto their website if you selct 'Notes' it should state in there exactly what they've done with regards to your super refund so far!
If not, unfortunately I think you just have to keep hassling them! I ended up getting quite angry in my e-mails but, it got them moving.
Just thought I'd update the thread with the latest.
Its now July, and I'm still waiting for any Super to come through. They've already lost all my Super paperword once, despite the fact I sent my Super and Tax docs together - in January! I resent them a few months ago, and it now seems that they forgot to process them.
I don't normally bother with forums but, well, its just appalling really. I wouldn't wish travellersxpress on my worst enemy.
I don't have a different recommendation for people who are thinking of using them, other than to say 'use anyone else you can'.
I'll update the thread again when anything new happens with my claim.
I know this doesn't help much, but you can file your Super Annuation Returns etc. ONLINE! This is much easier and you deal direct with the Companies!
This is what we did, however, with one of the companies I had my policy with I got the return back in two weeks. With the other it took me 6 months !
This seems to be the case with some of the larger Super Annuation Companies as they charge you monthly fees on your account.... and so.... they stall in returning your money to you !!!
Damn Financial Institutions !!!
I had a problem with mine as they kept telling me that I hadn't provided them with enough proof that I'd left the country (i.e. cancelled my visa!) This was 6 months after I'd left!
I'd recommend phoning and phoning and phoning (I in the end had to email the Immigration dept to get them to email me an official response to say my visa had been cancelled .... this seemed to work and I got my monies from the Super Ann guys in two weeks!)
Maybe try phoning the Super Ann people directly and see if they've got your claim on file (this way you can see if the Agency are leading you up the garden path) and you can at least say who's stalling ?
Other than that... Hope it goes well
