Please advise -

In April, I'm going to Paris, Barcelona and Montpellier over two weeks. I'm flying in and out of Paris.

It seems like taking the train from France to Spain is a bad idea, is that right? The schedules I've seen take 11 hours from Paris to Barcelona!

So I assume it's better to fly Paris-Barcelona, eh?

It seems it is.

You can find Paris-Barcelona return flights for 100 Euros. Try Vueling Airlines or EasyJet. I've checked also Ryanair and it costs 60 Euros but remember they fly to Girona, 120 Km. away from Bcn.

Well it might not be a bad idea, but Barcelona is 1100 kms far from paris, so it takes time.

I'd also choose the plane though. If you fly to Girona you got buses runnin from this airport to Barcelona every hour or so I guess, and you could also take a bus to the city of Girona and get a train there, which will cost u around 5 euros

And even worse they use Beauvais Airport, and tell you it's Paris. I would pay a little bit more on an Easyjet ticket, but maybe Vueling can be as cheap as RyanAir anyway.

Condor, Iberia and AirEuropa are other possibilities from Paris.

Also keep in mind that connections from Barcelona to the Provence are really bad. Again a long train haul, and no available flights to this area.

Many thanks for your advice.

It seems like one should avoid crossing the French-Spanish border in a train, and that's what I'll do.
