Hi everyone. I'm planning on travelling to Croatia, mid April for 4 nights but am not totally sure where to go. I think I have decided on the Istria peninsular, but does anyone have any suggestions on what town we should base ourselves? We are mainly looking for relaxation, but would also like to be able to go and see what the place has to offer. A nightlife is not essential but would be a bonus.
Thanks for any help you can give me.
I would always recommend Plitvice Lakes. It is quite close to Istria and it is really beautiful. In Istria I would recommend Porec, Rovinj and Motovun.
Pula is the largest town in Istria, about 80.000 people on the tip of the Peninsula.
As it's the largest, there probably is much to do at night as well.
Istria is really nice place to visit!
I would also recommend you to visit south Dalmatian coast and some of its beautiful islands, Hvar, Brac, Korcula, Mljet....
Croatia is brilliant! When I went with friends, we travelled from Zagreb by coach to Dubrovnik. This is an amazing city, a must. Then we split (no pun intended) up and I travelled with a new companion on the ferry, staying in Korcula. This was amazing and the scenery breathtaking. After a few days we jumped back on board and visited Split. Again, really cool. The whole coast is well worth your time. Enjoy!
