End of April is bound to be better; few regular holiday-makers so shortly after Eastern.

Hi, my name is John. I live in Galapagos. May is a great time to come.

I would spend a week on a boat trip, then a few days on Isabela Island, then a few days in Puerto Ayora. Galapagos is never too crowded.

You'll love it!

Weather now: 30c, bright and sunny

Hi Iguanaman
I will be in Galapagos in early December 07. My partner and I plan on taking a week's cruise and a few days in Puerto Ayora. Do you have any recommendations for which company or even a particular boat? In the mid price range - I have read that somewhere around $150 a day will buy a good quality cruise. I know this is expensive but for these islands and this once-in-a-lifetime visit I think it would be worth it. Also do you know of a pleasant hotel in Puerto Ayora? I have no idea of the prices. Basic, clean and friendly is fine...

I just came back from living in the Galapagos for 5 months, and you will be happy whenever you go. High tourist season already happened the past few months, and the hot heat is about to end too. Galapagos never is too crowded, either. Make sure you make it to Isabella, its an unbelievable island with tons to do if you like the outdoors.

Hey,
first, thanks for your help, especially to you john.
id have some further questions.. my budget is more or less 1000€ (1200$?). Im staying in Quito right now and im wonderin if it would be better to book a boat trip here, or just book the flight from guayaquil to the islands and try to find a boat trip on the main island. I guess its more economic as agencies in quito charge a little bit for themselves.
Is it difficult to consider a nice boat trip over there? Have u any recommendations for a provider?
Some people i've asked about a galapagos trip so far said that a 4 days trip would be enough and that u are able to see and do everything worth the visit in this time. What do u think?
Thanks a lot,
Lukas
