Oh, wow! You're already booked? Hehe... Thought you'd be waiting for my notes before making decisions ;) Anyhoo, good on ya! Will still share other tips, though, I'm sure they'd help.

Man... I'm one week away from an awesome vacation! :D

Had an A W E S O M E time in Thailand! :) The party was wild! You'd love it if you like drinking and dancing and just plain having fun.

The sand in Haad Rin's sunrise beach (where the FMP is held) is really nice compared to Ban Kai/Ban Tai/Mae Haad. If I ever get myself back on an FMP night, I'd stay there :)

Hope you have fun! PM me for whatever other questions you might have on Koh Phangan :)

There is a full moon party every month, accommodation is easy to find, and going it alone was a doddle, I even met up with some people I had met in Vietnam several months beforehand on the beach.

There are always places to stay on the island, it depends how close you want to be and how much you are prepared to pay. I stayed down in Thong Sala beach and it was only 50 baht on the taxi coming back from the fullmoon/half moon parties....oh and there are always other parties happening on the other side of the island too...like the Pirate Bar where DJ Tristan struts his stuff.

Also Jumanji bar (Tristan owns with his wife) in Thong Sala, is great for live music and good food too.

Don't judge Thailand on these island experiences either, get yourself north and explore the likes of Pai, Chiang Mai and so on... :)
