Stupidly, myself and a bunch of 6 friends have booked flights to Amsterdam from the UK for 2 nights of the Easter long weekend (6th and 7th). Now of course, there is no accomodation to be found in the city centre except things that are too pricey or that require minimum stay...
Does anyone know somewhere to stay or an area just outside of Amsterdam that could be worth looking in to??
Any suggestions helpful at the risk of losing £90...
have u checked out the 'easytobook' website?
Warning !!!Do not use easytobook!!!!!
I booked a hotel through them ,when i arrived they didnt know anything about my booking! so stayed in a different hotel i really couldnt afford .
When i later checked my statement i had been charged for my original hotel!! (£210) the one that never heard of me!
This was in November despite heaps of calls/emails im still out of pocket. :-(
There is a lack of hotels/hostels in amsterdam. this is noticeable in the weekends and holidays
try to book direct with provider and do it now (if at all) it wont get cheaper!
sorry,no good news
How about hotels in haarlem? search from bookings.nl. about 15 minutes away from amsterdam (train) and also a nice place.
Thats such a good idea Eeva.
There are lots of towns, that dont take long to get to, from Amsterdam. Comute.
Have you tried all the hostels? Some of them have private rooms if you dont like sharing. There are quite a few hostels in Amsterdam that dont come up on web pages like www.hostelworld.com so if I was you I would just turn up in Amsterdam and just find a place when you get there. However I would do this as I know Amsterdam very well, perhaps not so good an idea if you have never been before.
Anyone looking for accom in Amsterdam around Easter now, is about 2 months late. Chances of finding anything at all, even in the highest price range, are minimal.
I even think you'd be VERY lucky to find smt as close by as Haarlem... probably it's gonna be more like Alkmaar, a 45-minute train ride away.
Good luck anyway. Next time, book WAY in advance
