hi, hope someone can help me!!

i'm planning my travels for aug/sept this year, for 12months, spending most of my time in oz, but also want to see thailand/laos/cambodia/vietnam and poss malaysia/singapore, so will either go via asia or come back via asia (say june 08ish).

any suggestions which of these is the best idea? and is a couple of months enough to see these places?

any comments very welcome as i'm a little bit clueless at the mo..all this travel planning is giving me brain-ache.

thanks, stevie x

Just a couple hints, first in general, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam and Malaysia will be cheaper for hotels than Australia or even Singapore. If money for travel is a concern you will get more bang for your buck in Asia.

You could finish your travel in Australia and fly to Bangkok. From Bangkok you have several ways to get to Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Malaysia. You can fly to some of the other countries if you like, plane tickets bought in Bangkok often have good discounts.

From Thailand you can easily obtain ground transportation to the surrounding countries. Bus service and train service are very good in Thailand.

Read up on the countries you want to visit and plan your moves.

Good luck.

Hello Stevie

I think a couple of months is enough to see lots, in these countries. Of course u would not see everything, but u can always go back. But if u could have a month in each country, it would be so much better.

I dont think it makes much difference, whether u travel in Asia in August or June. They are both, during the rainy season. But dont let that stop u. There will still be plenty of dry sunny hours, every day.
