Hi
I found this site by accident and am looking forward to using it on our trip to India. My daughter and I will be leaving at the end of Sept for India where we will travel until the end of October. We have our itinerary pretty well set and our bookings done so will concentrate on packing and getting things ready to go! I am very excited to be visiting India! We will start our trip in Delhi, from there go to Varanasi, Agra, Jaipur and Udaipur. Then we will fly to Cochin, be in Thekkady, Alleppy and end up in Varkala.
If anyone has any suggestions of things to do or see in these areas we would appreciate your thoughts. Any good restaurants in these cities? We are interested in taking cooking classes along the way as well. Has anyone great referrals for cooking schools or classes? Any tidbits of information that will make our trip more enjoyable would be appreciated!

Welcome to Travellerspoint okanagangirl :) If you haven't already come across it, have a look at our packing list.

To get advice on specific areas, the best thing to do is post questions in a new thread in the relevant forums. Otherwise the only people who will see your post are those subscribed this thread Sounds like a great trip!

Greetings, all!

I'm brand-new to this site and to the world of travel blogging. I've just recently moved from my home in the US to marry the love of my life in the UK - talk about a change! I would never have believed how very different the two places are. In order to make the transition as easy as possible, and to learn as much about my new home as I can, I began documenting the entire experience through a new blog. I'd dearly love any input/advice/tomato-throwing that any of you can provide. Please see the link to my blog in my profile. Thanks so much!

Kate

Hello, and welcome to Travellerspoint!!! You've come to the right place to learn more about travel and exchange ideas with people just like you: people who enjoy seeing the world beyond their backyards.

With the internet being what it is, I'm sure everyone has been spammed or received unwanted solicitations by e-mail. Isn't it fun to have to clear out your inbox when 200 junk e-mails find you?

So here at Travellerpoint, we try to limit the opportunity for spammers to get to you by asking you to refrain from posting personal e-mail addresses and promotional website links in any of the forums. This is a very effective way to reduce the possibility of receiving the dreaded spam, spam, spam!!!

And please take just another moment to review the Forum Rules. They can be found here: FORUM RULES

Thank you, and again, WELCOME!!

Hi,
I want to ask, about the rules here. I made one reference to one website, not mine of course, there were no advertisement or so, but anyway you deleted it.
In my advices, can I not refer to a certain website that describes a particular country, what to see there, what you can do so on?
Thank for the answer.

Generally speaking, if it's your first post and you're recommending a website, then we pretty much assume that it's promotional. There are lots of examples of people promoting sites on here who try to make it look like they are just happy customers. If we don't know anything about you, then we have to assume that's the same in your case. I'm sorry if we edited a genuine recommendation. I'd just recommend going easy on recommending external sites until you've posted a bit more on here so we know who you are :)
