I posted a link to some movies I made last year while in Asia
They have been classified as promotional --
Are you not allowed use the http: link to link to your stuff or how does it work
You're not allowed to link to anywhere when the purpose of that link is to "promote" the thing you're linking to. (See for example the forum rules, and there should also be a note about this on the "reply" pages while you have made less than 5 (10?) posts.)
So basically the only links that show up here on the forum are those posted directly in answer to a question by a traveller looking for help, where the poster of that link has no relation to the site on the other end of the link. The reason for this rather strict rule is so there's no need to argue with countless travel companies, guides, hotel owners, etc trying to exploit the grey area of any other rule. I'm not too fond of the theory on it, to be honest, but I do rather like the result of having a spam free forum.
The interpretation of the rules also become more relaxed as you become a more regular member. When we know you're not posting here for the sole purpose of promoting your personal videos, because we've seen you make hundreds of posts helping fellow travellers, ...

[ Edit: Sorry, no personal details please. ]
hello all! i've been lurking on these boards a while and thought i would jump in...my favourite types of trips are those that go off the beaten path!
Hi everyone! New here so forgive mistakes, heading to N America next month and can't wait!
I found this site by accident and am looking forward to using it on our trip to India. My daughter and I will be leaving at the end of Sept for India where we will travel until the end of October. We have our itinerary pretty well set and our bookings done so will concentrate on packing and getting things ready to go! I am very excited to be visiting India! We will start our trip in Delhi, from there go to Varanasi, Agra, Jaipur and Udaipur. Then we will fly to Cochin, be in Thekkady, Alleppy and end up in Varkala.
If anyone has any suggestions of things to do or see in these areas we would appreciate your thoughts. Any good restaurants in these cities? We are interested in taking cooking classes along the way as well. Has anyone great referrals for cooking schools or classes? Any tidbits of information that will make our trip more enjoyable would be appreciated!
Welcome to Travellerspoint okanagangirl If you haven't already come across it, have a look at our packing list.
To get advice on specific areas, the best thing to do is post questions in a new thread in the relevant forums. Otherwise the only people who will see your post are those subscribed this thread Sounds like a great trip!
I'm a travel agent and no I'm not here to solicit but to talk about my biggest love traveling and also to learn more from highly experienced travelers. Nice to meet everyone.
I'm brand-new to this site and to the world of travel blogging. I've just recently moved from my home in the US to marry the love of my life in the UK - talk about a change! I would never have believed how very different the two places are. In order to make the transition as easy as possible, and to learn as much about my new home as I can, I began documenting the entire experience through a new blog. I'd dearly love any input/advice/tomato-throwing that any of you can provide. Please see the link to my blog in my profile. Thanks so much!
I'm Tomislav, you can call me "Tomi" I hope to find some great information on backpacking and meet cool travelers.
