hi Heather.
hey i know it wont be man flu........i had it for 2 days and passed it onto my wife.
ha,,,,,,she had it for 7 days.
sorry mate. just hang in there, and to be honest dont think the doctors or chemist will help.
let nature take its course...........
one last thing , dont listen to any old wifes tales on how to get shut of the man flu.
take it from me, plenty of whiskey and hot lemonade, does not do a thing for the man flu. but hey can you sleep after the whiskey

"feed a cold stave the flu" was one I remember

I always try to get lots of vit c when I have a cold too, that means lots of lovely juicy clementines or mandarines or oranges

get better soon hon!

I like to warm up a bit of cheap red wine and add some fresh squeezed orange juice. 3 or 4 gallons later, you feel just fine!!!

Actaully, a few cups do help you sleep soundly.

And for the sore nose....stop pressing the wipe so hard!! Put vaseline on it at night so it can heal while you sleep.

Feel better anyway, and don't give it to Paul. You know how we men are.......

Neal swears by a hot whisky: whisky, hot water, brown sugar, and a lemon wedge pierced with whole cloves. Personally, I think the numbness is what helps.

One of Beerman's remedies: Take one of those juicy clementines, peel it but leave the white pith on the fruit. Section it and simmer it in a pan of red wine. Don't boil, just simmer for about 5 minutes or so. Pour in a cup and drink while it's warm.

The doc won't be able to help you. He's likely to prescribe anitbiotics which do not affect the cold virus. It will laugh. Maniacally. Vitamin C and zinc do work, though zinc needs to be taken in the first 24 hours to be the most effective. But, a zinc tab a day for the duration won't hurt.

To help dry up your nose a bit, take a pan of water, add a teasponn of Vicks Vaporub to it and heat to a simmer (so the Vaporub has melted). You don't want the water boiling! Place a towel over your head so you create a "tent" over the pan (take it off the stove first) and inhale deeply. It will help chest congestion, keep the nasal passages moist and slow the sneezing. Oh, close your eyes too as the menthol can be irritating.

Feel better! Maybe a weekend in with some movies and warm wine will be the best treatment. ;)

na..... honest the whisky works a treat, and it does not matter which sort, plent of whisky and hot lemonade, does nothing for the cold but you forget about the cold for a while.

Just keep warm, drink plenty of liquids and rest. Make sure you're not allergic to the meds that you're taking, if you have a fever and a headache take ibuprofen (I'm not sure what is available in your area, here it's Biogesic) or acetaminophen (Tylenol).

In the future take vitamins (esp Vitamin C + b1, b2, b6, b12) more so your immune system could work better to stave off the evil flu.

I hope you get better soon! :)
