Hi does anyone know anything about Yacu yura ( www.yacuyura.org ) or Gaia ecolvillage ( www.gaia.org.ar ) ? Yacu yura is in Cruce de Maza near Cordoba and Gaia is near Navarro, BA. Im going to Argentina in two weeks and am trying to decide between the two. Any advice about other eco-villages etc where i can do voluntary work much appreciated. Im working my way up to Ecuador.
thank you
Ganga

Hi Ganga
There's a book I found invaluable in planning a volunteer placement in Sth America (I chose Ecuador) and it continues to be of great use: Lonely Planet 'The Career Break Book'. It has a section on volunteer organizations and lists 200 or more, and their websites. Try these for starters though: www.workingabroad.com; www.volunteering.org.uk; www.transitionsabroad.com; www.volunteer.org.nz; and www.volunteering.org.au. Doesn't matter where you are applying from - they will organize it for you if it interests you. No doubt these sites will lead you on to other possibilities as well. Cheers!

Hi Ganga,

Thanks for your email.

I don't know about the Cordoba Eco Village, but I have been frequently reading about the one near buenos Aires and all the things I've heard, read and saw were amazingly interesting and novel... I would say this is a very interesting way to go.

Hope my advise was of help, cheers from BA Bob Frassinetti
