You like photography? Well, you could turn this into a photographic project. I remember in College we looked at pictures by a very well known photographer (can't remember his name, argh...) who basically went around taking photographs of people on holiday. He had a very unique style, the colours were very saturated (almost to a point where it gets painful ). I remember one picture in particular of the Leaning Tower of Pisa. He took a photo of the people pretending to push the upwards. It's very funny to see all those people in the same pose.
You could come up with creative ways of photographing people and other things, like random objects, just to keep you occupied.
Could make an interesting project.
Sarah, most of inland Mallorca is nice countryside - look at these photos - so you should be able to escape the beach hordes if you want to!
I have been bullied into booking a flight to Majorca with my mum this year (long story but I think her feeling was if she went on for long enough I wouldn't escape off to Argentina or somewhere alone for the first time). So there are 10 of us, they are laying on a beach people, I am most definately not. Find me a hill to climb, a church to visit, something to be doing continaully places to photograph, some wreck or ruin my family would call that heap of rubble. Ok its going to be hell isn't it??
PLEASE tell me there is something to do and see for a week, that I'm going to cope with this. I haven't started looking for things to do yet cos I'm too worried tell me there is something to do on the island please.
Thanks in advance
Yes, I can only agree with u. It will be hell.
But, u are making me feel good, because it is not happening to me.
I would die if I were you, or my family wouldn't see me the entire holiday.
Yes, she will die. A week, with family on Majorca will sufficate her.
Sara, I am trying hard, to find some consoling words for u. But, I think I will give up.
Oh, I found some. It is only a week. Then u will be free again. And your family probably booked some fancy hotel. Not like the dumps u would be staying in, in Argentina. At least u will be bored out of your skull, in comfort.
Idea 1.. Bring your laptop.
Idea 2... Bring me?
Idea 3.... Bring a disguise and run away frm them!!
In fairness, it probably wont be that bad at all.. Just think, this might be a regular family outing...
Hmmmmmm...... Thats what I'm afraid of, very afraid of..... and its no laughing matter.
Oh and Mel Thanks

What if they want u to go on organised day trips, with them, in Majorca.
My mother used to cut out adds for holidays, in Majorca, for me. She tried to show me that they are much more economical, than flying around the world. And see, they have discos, so they are not boring at all, for your age group.....
Sara, now that u have given into this, next she will be hauling u to the hairdresser, for that tidy airline stewartess cut and shopping for tailored clothes(after she has taken u for that colour analysis thingy). And then it will be introductions to suitable men and then....

You could just do what I did for a week in Tenerife with my family. I made them pay for everything...
Go scuba diving or para-sailing or something and get your mum to pay for it, it probably wouldn't be in your budget on a solo trip somewhere..
Now in fairness they'll be too busy laying on a beach or by a pool to do any organised day trips..... and I only do tailor suits for work... but that pays for holidays so I can live with it.
Rent a bike. Mallorca has some great cycling if you get away from the main metropolitan areas. We'll be there next week for 8 days (Peguera). Lots of good chances to work off the winter fat.
and hey if she wants to introduce me to suitable men, well I can't do any worse than the one I've just got rid of
Tell us what a b*stard he is, Sara. Men troubles always make good stories. And better than soap opreas. And I dont have a television anyway, so tell.
Or would u have to start another thread, for that?
