Travel Forums System Talk Howto: pasting search results

One learns something new every day :)

Since this isn't in the FAQs, I thought it might benefit someone if I posted it here. Probably no-one but myself finds this useful, but still.

Thanks to Isa's post, I found out that it is possible to paste links to search results in posts. Useful when referring people to relevant threads. Tnx, Isa!

You're welcome Niels! I just took for granted that it should work awhile ago - and it did. So, you're not the only one finding it a useful thing. ;)

Yes, that's definitely one of the neater functions of the updated search system (although that particular upgrade was done before the latest one). It follows a standard layout, so should work nicely for linking purposes - good to say find all 'forum entries regarding travel insurance' or 'all blog entries with taj mahal' in it, or even just 'all occurences of Sam throughout the site' :).

For those of you using Firefox, you can also install the search engine plugin when you visit Travellerspoint (it will light up in the little search bar at the top right hand side) which is useful since it allows you to search the site regardless of which other site you are on (just the other day I wanted to do a search for a username while I was on some other site and voila, there it was :) )....

Quoting Sam I Am

or even just 'all occurences of Sam throughout the site' :).

This just sounds like a news item: 'A Sam occured last night at 3 am local time in Indonesia.'

That function sure is nifty. (just to avoid threadjacking accusations or occurences of Mods...)
