I and my husband are planning to go to Switzerland and have thought to stay for 4 nights and 3 days in Interlaken and one day in Geneva as we have to catch early morning flight back on the last day..
Our plan for now is
Day 1. We will reach Geneva in evening. We will catch a train to Interlaken and stay in Interlaken that night.
Day 2: Rome in Interlaken and go to Jungfrau
Day 3: We plan to go to Rhine falls.
Day 4: Plan is to go to Mt. Titlis or Mt. Pilatus.
Day 5: Spend time in Interlaken itselft till 11:00 and then go to geneva or Go to geneva in the morning itself and spend time in Geneva..
Now, I need your precious suggestions on Is the plan okay to go to Rhine falls and Mt. Titlis from Interlaken itself.
And any other suggestions to enhance our plan are welcome.
Thanks to all of you in advance for giving me suggestions.
And yes Where do you get good and cheap Swiss chocolate and are there any suggested brands of chocolates.
I try do get you a idea what I would do, but just know that to do so many things in 5 days is a full time program...
1 Day, go to Bern -> http://www.berninfo.com/en/welcome.cfm?
Which you should not miss on a trip to Switzerland!
2 Day, going to Luzern -> http://www.luzern.org/en/welcome.cfm?
... wehre you could visit Mt. Pilatus.
3 Day, Early in the morning to Interlaken, to visit Jungfraujoch (expensive) befor the sun goes down, check tourist office. -> http://www.interlaken.ch/index.php?id=53&L=3
4 Day, heading to Montreux whit MOB -> http://www.mob.ch/GPS/main.asp
If you lucky and its nice weather you'll never forget that ride make sure that you could go whit the Golden Panoramic Express whit a reservation in the front panoramic seats! It's beautifull!!!
Montreux -> http://www.montreuxtourism.ch/index.cfm?&Langue=en
5 Day, Going to Geneva (or day befor from Montreux) and have a look around.
Forget about the Rhine Fall, its in the really east of Switzerland and don't fit to your destinations which you would like to visit. And in my opinion it's not that great to travel 2-3 houres to get there, well if you would have more time maybe but in 5 days you would brefere that or a similar sircle.
Have fun and fell free to ask more....
Where you from in India?
Greetings from Basel
I completely agree with Pascal. The rhine falls are nice but not that special to travel all across the country. While in Interlaken you can always check out the "Truemmelbach falls" in Lauterbrunnen. I think they're even more impressive! Check out their website: www.truemmelbachfaelle.ch
Well, my favourite chocolate brand is Lindt and of course you gotta try the "Ovomaltine" chocolate. A little hint from a chocolate lover: don't eat chocolate right out of the fridge and don't chew it! You're supposed to suck it - then you'll get the real taste
Enjoy your trip to Switzerland! You're gonna love it!
Greetings from sunny Interlaken
