My girlfriend and i are planning to apply for a working holiday visa for Canada when they are released in December.. This seems to be no problem, however we will be travelling from July and will most likely be in South Africa when we apply.. this again seems no problem but it seems that we have to be in the UK (where we are citizens) in order to recieve the visa.. does anyone know if this this true? It seems daft as by the time they will be released we will most probably be in South America and obviously it seems pointless having to go back to the UK before going to Canada.
If anyone knows if this is true or if there are exceptions or any way round it, any advice would be great. Thanks very much in advance

I'm afraid I know very little about the Working Holiday programme for Canada, but I would get in contact with the Canadian Embassy. They are a little um ... tight lipped on giving out phone numbers, but here is the toll free # for with in the UK, as well as the local officies in your area. They will be the best option for accurate information for you, I think
Toll free : 00-800-2326-6831
Local: 44 (20) 7258-660
44 (131) 473 6320
44 (0) 2920-449635
44 (121) 236-6474
44 (2891) 272060
You can also check out the website, if you dont have it ... But from the quick glance I took I couldnt find anything usefull. Such is our Government

I have found the odd number for the Embassy over here but always get an automated response so these will be very helpful!
Cheers for your time, hopefully i can find out one way or the other as it does seem a little daft to have to fly home just to fly back out..
Oh well, we'll see..!
