Well folks, 31st of March would be my last day to go to work and after that I would be focusing on finishing my college course. I am excited and scared at the same time...I wanted to initially continue working while studying but presently that's impossible.

Any words of wisdom for me? I seem to be having second thoughts about what to do in my life.

Hi, You say you're having second thoughts? What is your college course? What are/were you hoping to do after it?

A good tip for studying, once you have worked, is try to think of it like a job. For example, try to study from nine-to-five. If you organise yourself you can still have evenings and weekends to yourself. You'll find it easier to motivate yourself if you look at it like that.

Is it possible to get a part time job while you are studying?

Hello Redhaze

I worked and went to college, and worked some more, and went back to college.
How serious are your second thoughts? It is not too late, to cancel college, is it?:)

I've been studying at uni and working full time over the last three years, and although hard I dont regret it in any way.

You shouldnt have seconds thoughts! It is always going to be for the best! And if you doubt at any time just remember why you made that decision in the first place! (in my case i guess i had enough of the "chicken or beef" question!!!! )

Good luck with it!

PS. Or you can just leave it all and go travelling! hehehe...

Just remember, that everybody is having doubts, about a lot of things.

Sure it will be a change, but think of the benefits, when you will finish it. It can be a big change, going back to school, and meeting new people, making friends all over again. But it's nothing to be scared about, be open to meet new people, and you can battle through this course as a group.

Hey thanks, you really got me thinking there. I am a little worried about the fitting in thing, as most of the people in the univ that I'm going to study in would have been together for about a year or two already...but I am quite excited about new beginnings, it's like traveling to a new place alone...only the place would involve books that can be used for weight lifting and such...:)

Respiratory Therapy. I'd have to pick up from where I left off because when I was supposed to do my thesis and be an intern already...I want to work in the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) because I have this really insane want to try to help sick babies get better...as much as I can anyway. And I have to check my schedule here before I do any more work because if I become an intern I'd be on a rotating schedule.

I also just recently thought of shifting to Consular and Diplomatic Affairs because it would really enable me to study the languages I've always wanted to study plus it has some relevance to my current job. Plus, i can probably keep my current job and do part-time and it also could enable me to succumb to my wanderlust

I've also thought about just canceling college altogether but I did make a promise to my parents that I'd finish college...which course, I'm still thinking yet though.

Thank you for your kind words! Especially saying that everything would be for the best! I am really hoping I'd turn out just fine on the decisions I'm going to make.

And I'd like to commend you as you've done it for long and you are still going strong! :)

Dont do it, for your parents. It is impossible(in my opinion), to maintain the energy to achieve ones potential in life, if one is doing it for others, and not oneself. If u are doing things, which mean something to u, u will get the energy to follow through, because u know deep down, that u are doing what u are supposed to be doing.
There are lots of things u can do, which may make your parents proud, or maybe lots of things which they just wont understand but u and some other people will understand.
College is not the only way.
If u were to do exactly what u want, and do not have to consider your parents, what would u do?
