barrito has indicated that this thread is about Paraguay

Hi Folks, I'm finding very little on the travel forums regarding Paraguay & Asuncion in particular.
Anyone any info on language schools, hotels and any general info and impressions.
Thanks!!!!

What's your price range for accommodation?

Are you looking at the budget end of the market or 'proper' hotels.

For budget accommodation, try
http://www.travellerspoint.com/budget-accommodation.cfm (-edit note: link replaced
due to self-promotional nature and the fact
that we offer this same service here :) --)

The Apar-T-otel Porta Westfalica has private rooms for around $20

The Estancia Santa Clara comes in at $30

Or there's the Hotel Westfalenhaus for $47

As for learning Spanish in Paraguay......

IDIPAR, Idiomas en Paraguay, is a language school dedicated to teaching Spanish and
Guarani to foreigners.

I hope those links help.

Now to update my own website with that information.

I've just taken a closer look at the Estancia Santa Clara.

It's actually 141 km from Asunción and, as the name suggests, is a ranch.

Apparently, the price includes accomodation, breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner and all the
activities:

- Horseback riding

- Ranching activities (herding cattle and buffalos, branding of livestock and vaccination &
agricultural activities)

- Milking of cows and Asian buffaloes.

- Mini zoo with jaguarete (american tiger), puma (american lion), monkeys, parrots, coati,
carpincho (capivara), etc.

- Photographic safaris.

- Tour of ”La Virgen” hill and the surrounding forests.

- Walks on natural paths.

- Bird watching.

- Tractor, wagon and bicycle tours.

- Walking tours of nearby streams and creeks.

- Volleyball and soccer
