Hi All,

I am plannning on landing in Phuket in June. Where do I go from there? Does anyone know of a good backpackers in Phuket, Bangkock, Ciang mai?

Are there neighbouring countries that are worthwhile? What is the best way to travel within Thailand?

I think the neighbouring countries are worthwhile

I think the South East Asia on a Shoestring book, by Lonely Planet, would be a good investment, for u.
It is available in almost all bookshops, around the world and costs around 25 Euros.
It will give u information about the countries, in SE Asia, and then u will be able to decide, if they are worthwhile, for u.

June is strom season in phuket. You should go to phuket during Mar - May. In April (12-15) Thailand have Songkran festival (Water festival). If you have vacation on June & want to go the beach I advised Kao Samed. Cheangmai's beautiful in winter season.

[ Edit: Sorry, no promos please... ]

Hi Ozman - for all your hostelling needs, I recommend this site.

Enjoy Phuket, it's a great place. Went scuba diving there some years ago, it was amazing.

mikeyBoab, why don't you recommend the Travellerspoint budget accommodation area? We have exactly the same properties listed here at exactly the same prices (plus we also tie in a hotels and last minute hotels option for those that are interested), so why anyone would want to book elsewhere is beyond me :)

June is the rainy season, accommodation is very cheap, unless you want absolute minimum accommodation you should find plenty of guesthouses in Patong and other places for around B 200-250 a night, for B 400 you will probably get air conditioned room with own shoer etc, maybe even tv, so unless you are on a very low budget you can stay at the beaches at cheap guesthouses.
But remember it is the rainy season.
