I'm looking to hit Asia as the starting point of my RTW trip in September. I am focusing on OZ, NZ and South America but want to stop somewhere such as China, Vietnam or Thailand on my way. I will have approx. 4 weeks before I move on to OZ.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to where to go. I've been to Thailand in the past and loved it but I hear the weather isn't great at that time so would prefer to try somehere new. I'm ideally looking to start my trip somewhere pretty lively where I can easily meet people and with good weather.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
I think it will be the rainy season, all over South East Asia, in September.
But I dont think the rain will be so bad, that u wont enjoy these countries. Somebody else on this forum said most of the rain, in Thailand falls at night and sometimes in the evening. There will still be several hours of warm sunshine, everyday.
Thanks. The weather in Thailand / Vietnam is particularly rainy the more I look at it in in Septmeber. Actually, I heard Nepal was perfect in September so I'm now thinking about starting in Kathmandu and doing the Everest Base Camp Trek. From there, I can have a brief stop in Bangkok before flying on to OZ.
