Based on the following opinion of my boyfriend, shouldnt the Middle East Forum be in the same forum as Asia, rather than Africa?;)

The Middle East is not a continent, it's a region. Which is in Asia. Where else? It's not Europe and not Africa.

To try and prevent the feeling of "here we go again", let's try on this answer for size:
The grouping of the Middle East and Africa together in one forum isn't based on any claim that the one is part of the other, but rather purely on them being adjacent and both being low volume (while Europe and Asia get a lot more messages), which means that Middle East questions won't be quite as quickly buried amongst Africa questions as would happen if it was grouped with one of the other two forums, which means there's a higher chance for people to get their questions answered, which is after all what we're all about (as opposed to geographical accuracy, which we only pay lip service to). :)

And as Egypt is seen as Middle-East, there is some overlap as well!

Yep, very small part but that doesn't matter. And Europe is not Middle East right?;)

In footballing terms, Egypt is part of Africa. It participates in the African Nations Cup.

Geographically speaking, Egypt is located in North Africa, which would make sense that it's grouped under Africa. Egypt is quite unique. Like Russia, it's a transcontinental country.

Yes, but the Sinai desert/peninsula geologically is not part of Africa. It's so complicated

And Israel plays in Europe.

Good question though . . .

Uh yeah, that's why Egypt is transcontinental.

Yeah, and Australia is a continent but also part of the Asian Football Confederation. Confusing, but that's sports, I guess.
