Travel from LA to San Francisco to Las Vegas

Travel Forums North America Travel from LA to San Francisco to Las Vegas

Hi,

I've 8 days off before flying back to my home country after an assignment in Houston.

My husband is meeting me in LA, we plan to go SF, Vegas and Grand Canyon. We're more interested to spend time in SF and Grand Canyon, hence we'd fly directly from LA to SF, stay in SF for 3/4 days, fly to Vegas, rent a car, drive to Grand Canyon and back to Vegas before fyling back to LA. We are departing from LA to go back.

A friend of mine suggest to me to rent a car from LA and tour all the above places ourselves. Our concerns are whether we have enough time to do that and whether it would be too tiring doing that.

Any of your inputs or suggestions on my travel plans are very much appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Regards
Yeo

Why don't you look at a map and work out the mileage; then you can decide about the driving. I would say it's six of one, half a dozen of the other; in other words, a toss-up, as either way your time is tight, although that depends, I guess, on whether you are trophy-hunting (how many sites did we see) or going more in depth.

As to the sights, driving can't be beat (if you drive); the scenery is wonderful anywhere along this three-sided route.

Thanks pfeiffer for your reply. Ya, working out the mileage is a good suggestion. I'm suppose the driving option requires more studies and plannings, no short-cut for me...:-)

The one good reason for me to consider the driving option would be the sceneries..., just not sure for now whether that has a higher price to pay..:-)
