To Panama... I'm a newb

Well, I'm travelling for my first time, and going to Panama for 5 weeks... I understand I need to get a 'tourist card' which is valid for 30 days. I'm sure I can figure out how to renew it when I'm there, but I have no idea how to obtain one initially. Are these purchased at my airport of departure? If so, where and how?

If anyone could help me out I would appreciate it.

You can purchase the tourist card at your departure airport when you check in for your flight. You will have to do this at the counter, not down at the gate. The cost should be about $5.00USD, though the Newark, NJ airport charged us $10.00USD each. You can also purchase the tourist card as you enter Panama.

You will be able to extend your tourist card in Panama City, David, Chitre, Changuinola or Santiago.

Here are links with additional information about what you will need to do to extend your visit past the 30 days.
