davestag has indicated that this thread is about Thailand

Hello all!

I (and a friend, hopefully - he has since found a love interest!!) are flying to Hong Kong 1st May, stopping there for few days. Then flying to either Phuket or Bangkok (not decided yet, so open to any suggestions!) then eventually making our way down to do some Island hopping.

Beginning of June, my mate will be doing a runner back to England, and I hopefully then will be heading to Oz or Nz for couple of months.

If anyone is around any of these places during these dates, drop me a line. I am in contact with a few people already, but more the merrier!

Hopefully speak to you soon

Dave

Hi Dave,

Myself and a friend are heading to Bangkok on 13th June and will then be doing some island hopping for 3 weeks and then on to Aus for a year. Will you still be around in Thailand then? we're trying to decide where to start in Aus, we fly into Sydney but think we may stay for jsut a couple of days and then jet on up to Cairns as the weather will be much better! Decisions Decisions! Where are u heading in Aus?

Claire x

I have no idea about Oz, been trying to plan Thailand, not been paying to much attention to Oz! Just go with the flow I reckon, hopefully I will meet people in Thai who are going a simialir path as me, and follow them!! hahaha

Oz for a year? I would love to stop out there that long, I have nothing to come back to sunny England for, so if I am enjoying it, and can find a job, I may stop out there aswell!

I have been speaking to a girl from here who is going to Oz around mid-June, who is raving about Cairns, so seems a decent place to go.

You gonna work in Oz or do you have a fair bit of £££???

Yeah we're doing the same thing really, just planning most things for Thailand and leaving Aus til we get there but need to decide where we are going to start. I've got enough money for Thailand and the first few weeks in Australia but will have to get a job pretty soon after arriving, we're hoping to work for around three months and then spend the rest of it just travelling.

Can't wait now...just want to get out there and enjoy some sun! I think if u go for a couple of months u'll end up wanting to stay. Apparently jobs are real easy to come across so it should be nice and simple once we get there. x

my advice is to not plan too much for your trip. especially thailand, have an idea where you want to go but most likely your plans will change! its got that affect!
same with oz, me and mate drove up the east coast and never really knew where we were going to stop until we woke up that morning!

Myself & 3 mates are also travelling to Thailand around this time. We are flying into Bangkok on 4th June. We will be in Thailand for 2 weeks before flying on to Cairns on 18th June where we will spend 5 weeks travelling the east coast of Oz to Sydney then on to NZ. No real plans as yet for Thailand, although we're hoping to spend a few nights in BKK then travelling south to maybe Pattaya or Ko Phangnan for a few days then back to Bangkok for our onward flight.

Thanks for the replies!

Will the weather be OK in South Thai around May / June?? I have read conflicting stories regarding the rainy season!!

Even if my mate does pull out and end up not going, it seems there are alot of people going to do similair things as me, so shouldn't be too bad.

Wish I was going with 3 mates, I had difficulty getting one to go. Don't understand, as majority of us are in similair situations, none of us in relationships anymore, jobs that we wouldn't mind leaving, and having bit of £££ to spare. I'll never understand some people!
