i live in chiangmai and the smoke has been bad but its getting much better. it is sunny everyday and the weather has been clearing a bit. don't cancel your plans, but the sightseeing may not be as great as it would in rainy season (the mountains are brown and dusty now).

If you go to Doi Inthanon Natioanl Park near Chiang Mai everthing is nice and green because of the cloud forest. Lots of large green trees, beautiful waterfalls, orchids and colorful birds. This is the best area to visit in Thailand in the dry season for natural beauty.
