Alright folks, i need a bit of help, i'm travelling to SEA in september this year, cant wait! but i was wondering if any of you beautiful people have been to cambodia? because i wanted to find out a rough daily budget.... i dont mind sleeping in dodgy places (provided i've got a fan) and i don't mind travelling by bus..... so if anyone can impart some info that would be great
20 bucks a day and you'll be living dam good!you can get by on 10-15.If your somewhere cheap, like the coast.your money goes a lot further.cambodia is one of the cheapest places in se asia i reckon.
Sweet, thats what i like to hear! haha! what's the coast like by the way? whenever i read anything about cambodia it always seems to be about Angkor Wat.....
I have plenty of Cambodia photos in my gallery, some of Sihanoukville. It is the best beach option in Cambodia. There are other beaches, but none have the amount of hotels/guesthouses, clubs & restaurants as S'ville. Nice place to unwind and spend a few days, hit the beach, swim or dive if so inclined.
You can get fan rooms in the $5 range in most of Cambodia, a/c rooms for $10/nite. Add $5/day for food and your basic expenses are met. You do have to add transport costs and any sightseeing expenses, but they are not budget breakers. Bus from Phnom Penh- Sihanoukville; $2.5, PP-Siem Reap; $5, PP-HCMC; $6. PP-Kampot;$ 2.5, PP-BKK; $13. You can easily tour Cambodia, see all the major sights and spend under $20/day. The exception is Angkor Wat. Entrance fees are $20/day or 3 day pass for $40. That will put you over $20/day while in Siem Reap. You can get under your $20/day budget in the rest of Cambodia.
Send me a PM if you have any questions.
